    Starter isssue again

Starting issues with "unknown" positive or negative cable, I jump on those first. I've also learned, if you don't have the cables/connectors, look for vendors in you area that will make them. Should be considerably cheaper/better than most "chain" stores. Here in SE KY I'd expect $35 -45 for...

    New speakers in stock locations?

Thanks, you got me looking. Came across the JBL GTO939. I might have to try them....maybe I'll be able to get rid of my '90s kenwood 8" sub and amp for room behind the seat. Currently have JBL components in the corners with sub/2 amps in the center area. The sub and amps take up all the...

Need help wiring power windows and door locks 83 K1500

I got a door to dash to door harness from someone on here. It was great until things slowed down. I added the LMC relay kit and it helped a bit. not having AC installed was my concern. I was worried I'd be driving home in high heat an not be able to roll the window down. Me out being out of...

What have you done to your square lately??

[edit] quoted wrong post....anyway. When I had saddle tanks I used the silver bubble wrap (insulation) for anti-squeak. You can also use large bicycle tubes or roofing tar paper. Just a thought.

What have you done to your square lately??

back when I had the saddle tanks, I used thin silver bubble wrap (insulation) for tank anti-squeak. You can also use bicycle rubber and roofing tar paper as well. Just a thought.

Help me Tom Cruise.. Fuel or Spark Issue??

before I went LS, I came across a 1.5" vacuum gauge on an old peice of medical equipment hitting the dumpster. I bent some cheap metal and mounted it next to the carb. Made myself a mental note of what normal was. This helped out a few times before going LS. Haven't built one for the LS yet.

    New speakers in stock locations?

@JGV66 you can also use your existing behind the seat plates to mount component speakers......if you plan to use a behind the seat sub. If mine looked worth a crap I'd put up pics. Bondo on those plate on a k10 that gets beat around a bit.....doesn't hold well. Have thought about having a...

What have you done to your square lately??

personally, I hate clamps because the rust and get stuck and require cutting. The fight to me isnt worth the time and labor for an attempt thats highly probable to fail and a PITA on manifolds.....unless you can weld. Since lesson learned, I take it to a welder and tell them to weld it front...

‘83 K5- seeking design and material ideas on bed side panels and compartments for storage

Not on a K5, but on my K10 I did the 'burb relocation. This leaves the dual fuel doors/tanks open for whatever. Been thinking about what to do with the "channel" between the 2 doors. Hoist, potable water tank, small tool storage, slide out frame support for a "tent" etc. Wasted space I'd...

    2.5" or 4" Lift 1986 K10

I see a bit of rake. If thats a concern, an easy fix might be the Monroe coil overs on the front. I've got them on a stock k10 (front/rear) and it leveled it out. Worth a shot for under $100 for the front shocks. 'Course you'll have to measure for correct length since you lifted it. I've...

LMC AC controller has too many detents

If your not happy, 6 on the label and 7 detents.....send it back. You didn't get what you paid for. Having to put it in between is something you do on a part thats 20 years and older and needs to be replaced lol. Just my thoughts lol.

What gauge size/diameter to replace stock ??

Thx for the pics and info here. I'm looking at Gaffrig for a fuel pressure gauge to use with the LS. I don't think the sender comes with it (another $48). If I can make the 2 5/8" work, it comes with it for $3 more. Fuel Pressure (LS) 2 5_8 in Fuel Pressure

    LED Shop Lights That Last??

Thanks, was a Fathers Day gift 2 years ago from daughter and grand kids. Smaller print says toys fixed for free. I can't tell you how many times I've had to "fix" the rubics cubes lol. I downloaded the utube video's for future use.

    LED Shop Lights That Last??

I got Barrina LED lights for the garage. They are $50 for a 6 pack on amaswan. To space them out you need to buy extensions for $15. You can daisy chain all of them together so you only need one power source for 6. My garage is 25x25' with 8 ft ceilings. I did get some flashing from Lowes...

What new tools have you got lately?

Everyone needs a Chapman set. I've been using one at home and work since the early '90's. Great for tight spots, and a small easy (not roll up kit) with about every bit you need. Don't get on amazon....look elsewhere for a better price. Chapman Set

Period correct wheels for 86 K10 Stepside?

if you like the height of the truck, I'd stick with the 33's and I'd google M/T mudders vs Courser CXT and then Courser MXT. Open it up to other tire manufacturers as well. Both that I mentioned are not as aggressive as the M/T with the CXT being the least aggressive and better road ride...
