Issue resolved - New parts on the way -- Key will not insert into the ignition switch

key won't go in? I'd say that's going to be the key switch itself. If you can get it in but can't turn it, then that's a different scenario.

    Power loss with aggressive acceleration

Items that can not be returned: "Products that may pose potential health and safety risks once sold" Good luck returning it. I'm glad they have that in there to help crutch the abusers. When throwing parts at something, I don't expect my money back unless the OEM (edit: or parts store) says...

    NOG Here

Welcome, curious about the Astronomy Patents. Years back I was going to build a DIY telescope but it never happened. During that time I did think of a mirror idea with a spinning dish and mercury. Bad idea due to the hazards. lol never attempted due to common sense w/o assistance.

Differential swap / bought it, work and install now

I've got 3.73's in mine and drive 10 miles interstate on the way to work. I start off in 3rd and shift into OD 75-80 MPH.....it'll hold it in that area provided no hills. Hit 85 in OD....she starts to sing with power regardless of hills. Really wish I had 4.10's

Lost Two Gen 3 LS Engines in my 1986 C10 2WD

if for some reason you pull the engine or get another one, get a cheap test stand so you can run it prior to installing. Nothing meant, just saying for the future. Test it before you install to save time/hassle. test stand

Lost Two Gen 3 LS Engines in my 1986 C10 2WD

I've learned from others on the web to replace the oil pump on a used LS engine. I'd pull it from the top down to diagnose. From the sound of it in the video, it's going to be pretty obvious.

Lost Two Gen 3 LS Engines in my 1986 C10 2WD

check the compression before you install it.....be better before you buy, but a little difficult to do in the field. All you'd need tho is a battery and a starter along with the comp. gauge. Not sure how critical, but did you prime the oil system before you started it or just went dry?

Best place to hook up vacuum gauge on Edelbrock carb (permanent and temporary)

a vacuum gauge should be no flow. Take a mechanical and put a hose and syringe on it and pull. It should stay steady with no movement to the needle provided the syringe plunger doesn't move. If it doesn't you have a leak in the hose connections or the gauge is bad. Another way to test a...

    Keyless entry upgrade

I did the same but the one with the solenoids that direct mount to the lock arm. Wanna say it was $25 for a 4 door. Careful of the screws that clamp on the arm tho....mine stripped out pretty easy.

    Bucket buddy seats

If you're willing to drive 8 hrs to look at his work, you should be able to form an opinion when you get there.....take your seats with you....just a thought. If not, you wasted the 16 hrs driving time you were willing to do just to look at his work. Surely he has something else you can look...

Help! My coolant temp heats up fast in idle or slow-moving traffic (around 210F+) then decreases when I start driving (around 170F-190)

Plenty of controllers out there if you don't want to build one. However you do it, I wouldn't T into the cooling hoses for the temp probe. I'd get one that goes into the head.

    TBI diagnosis reminder

Am I the only one that uses a timing light to check for spark? Not seen a lot here, but on TV they always pull a plug wire. I've always done it that way because there is that risk of the plug on the wire messing coming off....bam...you need a new set of wires.

What have you done to your square lately??

All done, the 31 total 1/4 turns is perfect for my 7' door. I did mark the leverage bars with a marker and made sure they were all the way in every turn. I stayed off to the side of the spring with goggles when turning.
