Looking for advice swapping 5.3 and 6L80e into 79k20

Lastly and most important to me with the engine you have, look into AFM/DOD delete. Yes it's about $800 but I would do it if one was going into my truck. No I'm not rich, but one of those would not go into my truck w/o it being hardware deleted. [edit] see next post and link I posted below.

Looking for advice swapping 5.3 and 6L80e into 79k20

Also might want to do the 'burb tank conversion under the bed unless you need a spare tire. I went with '88 I believe and fitted the pump to the sender. Save money and build your own AN hoses. I used PAC-625 from Advance Auto for the hard line between engine and tank Areas. Good reviews back...

    LS swap DBW pedal geometry

stand by.....Holler at Precision Fabrication Plus and tell them what you have. The one I got from them was for a duramax setup, but it bolted right up. I didn't want to waste money so I mailed my pedal to them and they test fitted it. You could probably trace your pedal with measurements and...

What have you done to your square lately??

found out I didn't have brake lights from a co-worker. Pulled the lights and checked the typical grounds n such. Come to find out it was a blown fuse. Thinking about it overnight, I remembered I'd recently put the rear step bumper on. Sure enough, one of the wires was pinched where the...

    What's the first move?

Driveline and frame (flex at the steering box) is all I would be worried about with your description. If the cab is fine except the corners and the bed floor is fine you should be fine.....again if like you said it's a steal. Fenders, doors, rocker panels, and complete bedsides can be...

Not a low rider fan so regardless of paint job, bike, ford/chevy/dodge w/e, If you gave it to me I'd sell it and never set foot in it. Similar opinion of corvettes.....something so "delicate" a body.....deserves someone else.

    77 K10 LS Swap

yeh I think that was all due to age and having Rob Zombie going too loud when i took off to work that day lol. Didn't hear or feel anything except loss of go-go. It's been rebuilt and running good for the past year though.

    77 K10 LS Swap

I'm looking at $500-600 where I want to take it. What did you pay and was it dyno? Also, did it include a shift points tune? A concern of mine was/is I did the swap and it spun a bearing 5 yrs later and I rebuilt it. But between those 2, I've never had it WOT.....too scared lol.

What new tools have you got lately?

got a monocular for $450 on optics planet for hunting. Can be used for animal ID, tracking, deer down tracking/ID, or stuff around the house as well looking for insulation leaks and such. as bad as some of the guys at the "farm" are at shooting deer, it will come in handy and save time. Also...

    Oil pressure sender stuck.

IMO, I prefer a gauge. You learn where it's normally at and if your smart you keep an eye on it and use your judgement. Lets you know when issues are coming before that light comes on. A long (hours) drive, I understand the light....hard to keep an eye on those gauges on a long drive.
