    No help with your trim other than to agree that it is probably aftermarket as the nose is not tapered, but love the color. Our '75 GMC was listed as Moss Gold. :waytogo: Not sure what Chevy called it.

    New guy from Alabama here. I own a 1975 C10 short bed with a 350 two barrel and 350 transmission.

    We had a 75 GMC half ton long bed with the 350 2V. Not sure why GM crippled them like that ... More room to work around the carb, though. :anitoof: Welcome!

    What are you using for organic? I think the last pad set I ordered was Bosch BP52S which said organic but the box stated semi metallic. They got used anyway. :anitoof: TIA !

    AFAIK, the Max ac units did not appear until 76. Our 75 had the AC style where the lower temp slider turned on Max AC when all the way left and the blower only ran on high. It also looks like the pictured Max unit only has 3 blower speeds which I thought was a much later ( mid to high 80s)...

    Yes, it was a 134 machine and the refrigerant installed is recovered unless there is a shortage and then it pulls from the tank on the back. Part of the process is a vacuum test. The system is basically OE - it is possible that orifice was the original one or it may have been installed before...

    Not so much what I did, but what I watched/helped slightly. :anitoof: Evacuated the AC and replaced the orifice tube. As with any science experiment we are changing one variable at a time so this is the OE equivalent orifice. Old one pictured. Charge was - 4.5 lbs (2.05kg).

    Sprayed PB Blaster down the fender drain holes and through the triangular hole in the passenger front fender. I noticed some rust above the wheel trim today ... :eek: I then proceeded to blast the drivers side with compressed air. Look at what came out ! Too ironic.

    Click click clit - when in the 4x4.

    Take the locking hub outer off -6 hex bolts on mine - and make sure the sliding gear isn't hung up. Had to spray mine down last December.

    Put the column in low and slide the switch all the way clockwise. Then put the column in park. That sliding style switch should automatically adjust for you. Make sure that tab is in the slot for it in the shift tube. Hope this helps ! Britt

    I agree with you but the OPs info says it is a part time rig. 89 V2500. Our old 77 Suburban (full time) had a catastrophic failure like you described while my sister was driving it and took out the transmission and came up through the floorboard. Truck was scrapped in AZ circa '94.:(

    Earlier than that. I believe 77 may be the changeover year. Note that if they have never been removed and are the push to release style then the release slot may still be flashed over.

    Although longer, as long as the new plug has the same wire spacing as the old plug it should go together no problem. Looks like you got the longer harmonica connector for a switch with cornering lights even though the switch is not wired for it.
