    suburban tailgate weatherstrip replacement

part showed up, so i just dove in. overall, not a bad job and pretty straight forward. hardest part, as seems to be a common theme with new wearherstripping, was getting the d@mn tailgate shut all the way over the new, fresh seals. and also had a freak out moment bc the window wouldn't go...

    suburban tailgate weatherstrip replacement

the rear weatherstrip is bad on my suburban tailgate. one side is actually torn and lettong water in. and I think a little water is also getting past the molded section that connects the rubber to the upper window channel on the other side. I have ordered a new part, but cant find much out...

is the front hub also just a sticker to peel off, or do you need to disassemble something first?

    Oil Sample low Viscosity

easiest way to check for leaky injectors is sometime on a cold engine put some paper towels under them, turn key to ON for 3 sec to let the fuel pump prime, key back to OFF. then check the paper towels for fuel.

    700r4 Overdrive

I have aux cooler only, but winters in KC are a little more mild. maybe some single digits to negative 10 for a few days. mostly between 0 and 30 for the lows. I figure the transmission makes enough of its own heat that I dont worry about it being too cold. not many transmissions die because...

    700r4 Overdrive

you can shift while driving. when I get on the hwy and am accelerating up to speeed (70-75mph), I shift sometime between 55 and 60 usually. sometimes it stays in 3rd and sometimes it upshifts right away, depending on my acceleration. I usually downshift when coasting as I get off the hwy...

    700r4 Overdrive

I keep mine in D unless I am on a hwy and consistently above 55mph. I dont think i am losing much in the way of MPG efficiency doing that and I am sure it saves some wear on the transmission. almost any towing should be in D unless it is a very light pull, and keep the speed appropriate.

    Fuse Box/Panel in a 1991 GMC Suburban V1500 - I'm trying to identify wiring/fuse issue

yes, tail light/courtesy fuse is the one for the dome/glovebox/vanity/etc. one of those wires in the vanity should be hot all the time at the vanity. the other one must to go a ground. check for 12v to find the hot one. check the other one to see if it is grounded. if it isn't it should be. the...

vanity mirror wiring in a 1991 GMC Suburban v1500

if i remember right, one wire was close to the contact switch and one was in the middle. kind of like the attached. the system is always hot, and the switch completes the ground, if I remember right. the issue with mine was the little plastic nubs thst hold the contact for the switch broke...

    1987 V20 stall issue

in my opinion, keeping TBI mostly stock or close enough to stock to use the stock tune, unless you plan to tune yourself, is the best idea.

    Leaking rag joint

it is. worst case you still have to replace the seal and/or box in the near future. mine was leaking decent for a couple years. used some of that stuff last fall and it has been dry ever since. someday i am sure it will start leaking again and I'll have to replace something. to me it was worth a...

Can rear A/C simply be bypassed?

I'd close it off in a way that it could be restored in the future if possible. It will still work fine in the front. I had my rear TXV clogged up once. The front AC was still cold....just no circulation through the rear lines.

Can rear A/C simply be bypassed?

Gotcha. Not using the rear and a lesser charge will work. If you have a front only hose set, wont the rear lines be fine as is? What do you need to block off?

Can rear A/C simply be bypassed?

Guess my question is - why don't you want the rear AC operational if you habe all the components?

Wiper park position changed on it's own?

I'd unbolt the motor from the firewall and pull the connection through. make sure the nut hasnt come lose and allowed the linkage to get out of sync with the motor.

    My 87 Blazer is Possessed.

besides a bad ICM, which may or may not set a code 42, code 42 is an issue with the EST (white) or bypass (tan/black) wires of the ICM harness. they either see unexpected voltage or unexpected open or could be shorting out on something. the red/black wire is a ground, and if for some reason it...
