Hangers: As I’ve said, skip them at all costs. They just aren’t worth the hassle of installation unless you know for sure you never want to go lower. C notch: On 73-87 trucks with a flip kit, you don’t necessarily need a notch. If you just plan to cruise around in the truck and won’t be hauling or towing much it will be ok without it. A-Arms: The 73-87 arms are pretty labor intensive to rebuild bushing wise. It’s a wash really if you want to do that or buy aftermarket arms if you are paying for the labor. I agree completely, still think it needed some better parts but it looks to be in very capable hands an should be back to better than it was when it left GMG really. -
Finally. And we're off! Unicorn 4500 complete rebuild.
The 4500 in my dually grinds going into 3rd an 4th so I'll definitely be watching this one! I've been thinking about rebuilding it myself rather than dropping 2k on it.- bluex

How much does your square body weigh?
My C10 is about 3800 usually after I empty at the scrap yard. That's usually with me probably 1/2 tank of fuel an my toolbox with probably 100lbs of junk in it lol. Edit: 78 C10 350 NV3500 on air ride- bluex

Cutting coils
2 makes the spring too short an it will fall out of the pocket when you jack up the truck. It can still be aligned but the guy won't like you very much lol. Your shocks should be fine. I run/recommend stock length KYBs even with a 3" drop spring.- bluex

It will work just fine. That style stud comes with a locking nut which is another reason I like using them. Just get them as tight as possible and use RED lcctite on the large nut holding the stud to the frame. Use Blue on the nut that secures the shock. I generally don't change the studs if...- bluex

You're right about the spindles but wrong on the springs. Cutting the spring only 1 coil isn't going to affect the rate or throw the geometry off so bad it can't be realigned. More than 1 coil gets sketchy the more you go an can cause issues as well. Heating the springs with a torch to lower...- bluex

Precision is the only brand seal you should buy. All of LMCs rubber products I've used have looked like crap in a couple of years. You can buy a kit from precision or there are various resellers of their stuff as well summit carries them as far as I remember. There is no way to tell year wise...- bluex
