    Factory Engine Color???

If approved by the driver, it's their ride. I did think iirc an engine rebuild painted pink by some guy for his wife on here. I showed to my daughter and she said Nooooooo. Thank goodness. But yeah.

    E-brake sticking after rebuild

No grooves in backingplate iirc, will ck everything. Pads were in good shape because rears weren't being used before I rebuilt. I think I got the two hold down springs backwards. All I can think of. Pad(s) sticking after we use brakes sometimes, and not actually touching e-brake pedal...just...

    Valve train?

I guess you didn't read all the posts Brother. Did all above. It is not a hydraulic lifter flat tappet cam...moot. Break-in went fine, and developed noise, idle not adjusted yet. And as you saw, it was a lifter. Things are well now. Yes, sad to have had to deal with a bad part, but learned...

    E-brake sticking after rebuild

Gonna be left rear...haven't touched e-brake, but after running around testing engine (and monitoring temp) stopped infront of house. When put back into gear no move (unless throttle, Lol). Put Jack under each back side 1st and left rear no moved.

    Factory Engine Color???

I like all the colors. I like to go period correct, but ultimately, you be you. Have fun! Black does look tuff... Contrast, we like contrast, ;):)

    454 valve adjustment

Lol, I hear your frustration. Thanks for that though Brother! Makes sense, I've watched the piston by piston method. We're fixing to replace our hydraulic lifters. Question... After your 1/2 turn, to lock down the polylocks, are you holding the polylock still, or turning with the Allen...

What have you done to your square lately??

Yeah, same here. That's another reason we're are this forum. Real people's loving to fix stuff themselves. Just saying there is always a market. That town I went through made me think that's were I could find a project for myself, or make some cash here in dfw. Meh, realistically I'm not...

What have you done to your square lately??

Rich people that pay people to sell them a rebuilt truck. It is crazy. I could NOT buy a scrap truck in dfw. Me and wife went down to Corpus Christi for a weekend, and we went through a town I counted 7 squares purchasable, + a restored, + a 60's, + 3 ford's that didn't count. Hmmm

What new tools have you got lately?

My new used Air compressor is working. New China Motor, oil sight glass, wire shelf for the back (saved $250) definitely NOT louder than my 25 gallon. Friend gonna help me get it into place. Then I can mount air filter and dryer, and run pipe for bottom air (water) bleed. It's very dirty and...

    Good Lord, It's a couple of Fords (1964 Ford 2000 & 1949 8N)

Great thread! Way over my skill and patience set. I grew up going to my Grandfather's farm during summers in LaSalle Illinois. My favorite tractor I was aloud to use on my own was the lawn mower, Lol.

What new tools have you got lately?

New used Air compressor! I don't FB, so my wife logged in, handed me her phone and went to take a nap. Of course I pretended to be her talking to a guys daughter that he was selling. Anyway, $300, 80 gallons and a mile away, they offered to help my "wife's husband" get it here cause I...

    What's this dohicky

@Grit dog , since rebuilding rear brakes, new proportioning valve, master cylinder, I was considering this valve could be causing a problem. Some suggest e-brake cables, but lifted I can't get that to stick, or using brake pedal. On the ground rear would grab, and tapping brake seemed to get...
