Factory Engine Color???
If approved by the driver, it's their ride. I did think iirc an engine rebuild painted pink by some guy for his wife on here. I showed to my daughter and she said Nooooooo. Thank goodness. But yeah.- Sgt Gus

E-brake sticking after rebuild
No grooves in backingplate iirc, will ck everything. Pads were in good shape because rears weren't being used before I rebuilt. I think I got the two hold down springs backwards. All I can think of. Pad(s) sticking after we use brakes sometimes, and not actually touching e-brake pedal...just... -
Valve train?
I guess you didn't read all the posts Brother. Did all above. It is not a hydraulic lifter flat tappet cam...moot. Break-in went fine, and developed noise, idle not adjusted yet. And as you saw, it was a lifter. Things are well now. Yes, sad to have had to deal with a bad part, but learned...- Sgt Gus

E-brake sticking after rebuild
Gonna be left rear...haven't touched e-brake, but after running around testing engine (and monitoring temp) stopped infront of house. When put back into gear no move (unless throttle, Lol). Put Jack under each back side 1st and left rear no moved. -

Yeah, same here. That's another reason we're are this forum. Real people's loving to fix stuff themselves. Just saying there is always a market. That town I went through made me think that's were I could find a project for myself, or make some cash here in dfw. Meh, realistically I'm not... -

Rich people that pay people to sell them a rebuilt truck. It is crazy. I could NOT buy a scrap truck in dfw. Me and wife went down to Corpus Christi for a weekend, and we went through a town I counted 7 squares purchasable, + a restored, + a 60's, + 3 ford's that didn't count. Hmmm -

What new tools have you got lately?
My new used Air compressor is working. New China Motor, oil sight glass, wire shelf for the back (saved $250) definitely NOT louder than my 25 gallon. Friend gonna help me get it into place. Then I can mount air filter and dryer, and run pipe for bottom air (water) bleed. It's very dirty and... -
