Interesting, same issues w 87 R20, 454, rebuilt. Issues seem after warm up with high idle. Did put a 180° Stat in it. Actually, going to try cable and data logging this weekend, because I haven't done yet. I got mine from: https://obd2allinone.com/products/aldlobd1u.asp It's more $ now...- Sgt Gus

87 Chevy TBI IAC Troubleshooting
You figure out issue? I can send pics of ours. I asked a refurbisher about yours. No adjustment other than throttle cable or idle screw. If you have shaft play, it may just need to be rebuilt.- Sgt Gus

Check with your source that you got the throttle body from. They may have the proper spring. Ours closes no problem, only time it wouldn't quite, is if throttle cable is too tight. Let me know if you need resources.- Sgt Gus

E-brake sticking after rebuild
Yes sir. That's what I was thinking and hoped. Got a little air out, so hoping that was affecting proportioning or combination valve. -

Decided to bleed rear brakes some more. :rolleyes: Tested good, didn't lock up and then took for a test drive. Fluid looked darker and dirty from bleeding. I ran denatured alcohol through the lines and blew out with air hose when I rebuilt. Maybe from getting super hot? I Dunno. -
