86 C10 Misfire Help
I'd double check the firing order on the cap and plugs to start. 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2 is the sbc firing order. Some times this gets overlooked or a wire gets swapped. A/C stops blowing when I come to a stop??
If it happens again, you can always test the motor outside of the housing. Ground the body and 12v to the spade terminal. Usually it's a relay or an issue with losing vacuum at lower rpm's that can cause it. Glad to hear it's working again though! -
Brights flashing with right turn
Just tossing it out there, but the PCB can cause issues with the grounds as well. Check to make sure that the contacts are flat on the board. Wipers not going back down
Try @Edelbrock's advice first. Could be as simple as when the arms were reinstalled, they weren't positioned correctly. Otherwise, it'll be the park position in the motor that's possibly wiped out. Easy enough job to swap out the wiper motor if the first option or repositioning the wiper arms...- 83Stepper

Truck won’t turn. What’s that sound?
Easy way to test it is do you get a fuel smell when cranking the engine and pumping the gas pedal? If you don't, go and grab a jug/container that's clear so you can see the fuel level in it and fill it about half full or so. 1990 R2500 Suburban speedometer not working
Wonder if the speedo isn't getting the signal from the VSS sensor, or an intermittent signal causing it to bounce around like that. But if you can get your hands on another speedo to test the theory of it being a bad speedo, do that first. Probably be cheaper than swapping out the vss sensor...- 83Stepper

Sorry you feel this way. We all get it, diagnostic testing can be troublesome and aggravating at the same time. If you have power at the floor dimmer switch, yellow wire (signal wire from headlight switch), you should have power at both the tan (low beams) and light green (high beams) wires...- 83Stepper

3” header back exhaust pipe kit for 2wd?
Exhaust shop is going to be your best bet if you're going to run 3" all the way back. Not going to be cheap either. It's a fairly similar run to that pipe kit shown. I have that exact same kit that I used on my 77 2wd C10. Pulled it off before I sold the truck to somebody for less than I was asking.- 83Stepper

Bad dimmer switch on whichever side cuts out when pressed. Disconnect the plug on the dimmer switch and check for continuity between all 3 terminals in both positions, high and low beam, to start. Overall lengths will tell you, quickest and easiest way to distinguish the 16 or 20 gallon tanks from themselves. Never ran across an OEM unit on these trucks with a drain plug. My 63 Galaxie 500 had a drain plug in the tank, but I don't recall ever seeing a GM product with a drain plug on any... -

First large indent is 0 deg (TDC), first tab going to the right in the pic is 4 deg before top dead center (btdc), next is 8 and bet you guessed the third? Going to the left, tab is -4 btdc, or 4 after top dead center. Small lines between the indent and the tab are 2 degrees each iirc.- 83Stepper

Any tricks to getting your SB doors to close easier?
1/2" pex or poly tubing works really well as long as the door bushings aren't blown out. Cut a slit down the middle of the tubing to slide it over the striker. Might have to take a little out of it to make it easier to install, but trust the process, it'll work as long as the rest are in good shape. -
