    86 C10 Misfire Help

I'd double check the firing order on the cap and plugs to start. 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2 is the sbc firing order. Some times this gets overlooked or a wire gets swapped. If it's "dieseling" after turning off, it could be a timing issue. There are a lot of variables that can contribute to this. Check...

    84 K5 Blazer "bed" bushings

LMC Truck has always been my go to for these, or Energy Suspension. https://www.lmctruck.com/body-components/body-mounting/csb-1981-91-body-to-frame-mounting-hardware-and-radiator-core-support

    rear disc brakes prop valve

Can't say I've honestly ever replaced one either that I can remember. Usually it's another component that fails, like the soft rubber hoses leaking internally, rotted steel line thanks to the salt belt, or a sticking/failed caliper. If you're doing the Wilwood swap, personally I'd probably just...

A/C stops blowing when I come to a stop??

If it happens again, you can always test the motor outside of the housing. Ground the body and 12v to the spade terminal. Usually it's a relay or an issue with losing vacuum at lower rpm's that can cause it. Glad to hear it's working again though!

    Brights flashing with right turn

Just tossing it out there, but the PCB can cause issues with the grounds as well. Check to make sure that the contacts are flat on the board. At times these babies will get loose from the original connector locations and can "slip" out and make contact with other circuits on the board. If...

    Wipers not going back down

Try @Edelbrock's advice first. Could be as simple as when the arms were reinstalled, they weren't positioned correctly. Otherwise, it'll be the park position in the motor that's possibly wiped out. Easy enough job to swap out the wiper motor if the first option or repositioning the wiper arms...

dose anyone have any good pictures of a 3inch body lift

Would have to dig around to find my old 80 K5 that had a 3" body and 4" suspension lift. They do look a little funky with the front bumper valance panel being above the bumper, big gap above the rear bumper and tailgate (roll pan fills in the space nicely though lol), fuel filler neck needs a...

Truck won’t turn. What’s that sound?

Easy way to test it is do you get a fuel smell when cranking the engine and pumping the gas pedal? If you don't, go and grab a jug/container that's clear so you can see the fuel level in it and fill it about half full or so. Run a hose from the tank side of the fuel pump to that jug/container...

1990 R2500 Suburban speedometer not working

Wonder if the speedo isn't getting the signal from the VSS sensor, or an intermittent signal causing it to bounce around like that. But if you can get your hands on another speedo to test the theory of it being a bad speedo, do that first. Probably be cheaper than swapping out the vss sensor...

Seat swap to rears from a 2014-2018 Silverado...

So I did a few things this weekend to get ready for the seats to go into the 83. Had to at least clean them up a bit with an upholstery cleaner. Still in the very early stages of mocking it up and getting them tossed into the truck. 1. Need to remove the covers on both sides, the outermost piece...

What have you done to your square lately??

Got some new seats to possibly go into the 83 from a 2017 Silverado the other day. While I was at it, I figured out what was going on with the brakes on the truck a few days back. Hose inner collapsed on the drivers side front keeping the brakes applied. Swapped out both hoses and had to swap...

Seat swap to rears from a 2014-2018 Silverado...

Really just looking for something that'll get me by cheaply where my wife and teenager can come along for the ride and not get slid into each other during turns lol. Plus the PO moved the shifter from the column to the floor, so not sure how that'll interfere with the geometry of the original...

Seat swap to rears from a 2014-2018 Silverado...

Found an amazing deal on a 60/40 split rear bench out of a 2017 Silverado in the right color for $40, next to nothing, near me. Hard to say no when it's for less than filling up my 16 gallon tank lol. Currently have some buckets that the PO fab'd into the truck using some earlier 70's seat...

What have you done to your square lately??

Never used it myself, but was looking at a lot of patina preservation videos, when I was trying to figure out my finish, and this was in a few of them. It's a more of a permanent preserver like Poppy's from what I was getting from all of them that used it. The boiled linseed and mineral spirits...

    Numerous Lighting Issues

Sorry you feel this way. We all get it, diagnostic testing can be troublesome and aggravating at the same time. If you have power at the floor dimmer switch, yellow wire (signal wire from headlight switch), you should have power at both the tan (low beams) and light green (high beams) wires...

3” header back exhaust pipe kit for 2wd?

Exhaust shop is going to be your best bet if you're going to run 3" all the way back. Not going to be cheap either. It's a fairly similar run to that pipe kit shown. I have that exact same kit that I used on my 77 2wd C10. Pulled it off before I sold the truck to somebody for less than I was asking.

    '82 K10 Fuel Gauge Pegged

Going to be 16 or 20 gallon. 16 gallon tanks are roughly 42" long and 20 gallon tanks are around 56" in overall length.

    Numerous Lighting Issues

Did you test the switch before replacing it? Circuit for the headlamps is pretty simple. Hot wire from the fuse block goes to the headlight switch. Wire from the headlight switch goes to the floor dimmer then carries through the firewall at the bulkhead connector to the headlights. Without...

    Numerous Lighting Issues

Bad dimmer switch on whichever side cuts out when pressed. Disconnect the plug on the dimmer switch and check for continuity between all 3 terminals in both positions, high and low beam, to start. A short to ground in the floor dimmer switch will cause the headlights to go out when the dimmer...

Try Rockauto, found the AC Delco Gold TPS for like $66.79. Shipping might take a bit longer, but they're usually cheaper than 90% of anywhere I look for parts. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chevrolet,1987,v10+pickup,5.7l+350cid+v8,1300868,fuel+&+air,throttle+position+sensor+(tps),5136

    FUEL TANK CAPACITY 1982 K10 4x4

Overall lengths will tell you, quickest and easiest way to distinguish the 16 or 20 gallon tanks from themselves. Never ran across an OEM unit on these trucks with a drain plug. My 63 Galaxie 500 had a drain plug in the tank, but I don't recall ever seeing a GM product with a drain plug on any...

What have you done to your square lately??

Found a set of 2 15x7 and 2 15x8 rims off Marketplace for dirt cheap. Dropped them off at Wally World to get some new sneakers on them before I was able to get any paint on them. Shot them with Argent Silver. Cleaned up the deep dish trims with some 0000 steel wool and Wenol. Tossed them on...

    Manifold and ported vacuum

First large indent is 0 deg (TDC), first tab going to the right in the pic is 4 deg before top dead center (btdc), next is 8 and bet you guessed the third? Going to the left, tab is -4 btdc, or 4 after top dead center. Small lines between the indent and the tab are 2 degrees each iirc.

Any tricks to getting your SB doors to close easier?

1/2" pex or poly tubing works really well as long as the door bushings aren't blown out. Cut a slit down the middle of the tubing to slide it over the striker. Might have to take a little out of it to make it easier to install, but trust the process, it'll work as long as the rest are in good shape.

Latest Lost Cause Project: 1979 Z28

PB&J for sure lol. Been there with my 99 Z28 LS1 6 speed white on white. Put on a set of the 93-97 rollers and tails to really mess with kids on the highway who thought they wanted to run what they thought was an LT1 lol. Had a mild tune and some slight work done by a local LS1 guru here in...
