    Truck runs very very rough

I cant download a random video for security reasons, but I assume its running bad. Spark plug wire fall off? Fouled spark plugs? Bad fuel quality?

    K5 3” lift question

If you don't mind driving all the way across the country, I know of a used 4" K5 lift that you could get for super cheap. Couple hundred bucks at most.

    Back window issues

I agree, pull the cover. My manual window didn't work very well, but grease helped a lot. You probably have some rest/corrosion on the electrical connections. Maybe a bad ground. As for the motor, if its getting weak - you may be able to repair it. Nothing to lose by trying.

Did it ever work with the key since you have owned it it? Applied pressure where?

    K5 3” lift question

The cheapest lift option is going to be blocks and longer U-bolts. For the shocks - your cheapest option is shock extenders. For blocks in the front: They make a "special" type of block designed for the front, but its a specialty product and I believe that its classified as a leaf - not a...

    Oil pressure sender stuck.

How about this: Do nothing. Have you ever seen an engine drop to zero oil pressure while driving down the road? It doesn't happen very often. As long as you check your oil regularly and you don't smash your oil pan on a rock, your oil pressure should always be fine. Live without the gauge...

    Ignition Switch

As long as the steering wheel unlocks, I would just build your own personal anti theft starting system. You could take the keys to any one of my ... I don't know, 12 or 15 vehicles (not sure how many off hand) - and none of them would start with the key. You can unlock the door and unlock the...

    Reverse light switch?

Thanks for the info guys. Update: Found the wiring that goes to the switch, and that wiring has power. The switch itself has no continuity between the terminals when depressed or not. So.... Bad switch. $20 on Amazon with free delivery tomorrow. (The local auto parts store wants...

This may have already been covered, but is the pump running constantly? Intermittently? Infrequently?

    Bad alternator bearings

Try this: Take a piece of chalk and pub it all over the contact points of the belt. Chalk everywhere that the belt touches the pulley. You can also apply the chalk while the engine is running, which is faster and easier - but far more dangerous. This may instantly solve the issue, as well...

1988 r30 with newer motor ac problems 7.4 liter

Basic power path: Battery > dash switch > low pressure switch > hi pressure switch > electromagnet on the pump. The low pressure pipe and the high pressure pipe on the A/C have a very basic "on / off" switches on them. If the pressure is tool low then it will trip the low pressure switch...

Factory Chevy trained tech scratching his head on my truck problem.

Well, if it shuts off like that - then generally speaking its either a lack of spark or lack of fuel. So when it shuts off, immediately hit it with some starting fluid and see if it will fire up and then die. If so, you have a fuel problem. Test number 2: Put a permanently installed spark...

1988 r30 with newer motor ac problems 7.4 liter

Ya, I agree - if the truck was originally a factory A/C rig, and the new engine has a compressor - then it should be pretty easy to get it working. A/C is pretty simple. A/C is basically two radiators and a pump. One radiator is in the dash, and one is behind the front bumper. A pump pushes...

How to lube the clutch peddle?

So on a 78 K5, is there some easy way to lube the clutch peddle mounting point? Mine is creaky and causes some extra resistance when moving the clutch peddle. Praying WD40 up there helps a lot but doesn't last. No zirk? Take it apart and grease? The pic is for example of lube location, not...

    Reverse light switch?

I checked. I found a round wiring plug hanging down from the front left of the trans. I'm assuming that's the reverse wiring. But what does that plug into? Would the electrical wires be on the body or frame headed to the back of the rig? Or should it be hanging down from the engine bay?

    Reverse light switch?

So I have a 78 K5, with a 4 speed manual. 465 trans I think? So the reverse lights don't work. I also added some extra reverse lights. Anyone know where the reverse light switch is on the trans? Should I just start from scratch and make a dash switch with a whole new circuit? Thoughts?

    700r4 Housing leak.

I would clean the hole and the area around it with rubbing alcohol, and then coat a screw threads with some Permatex gasket sealer, install the screw with a screwdriver, and then create a thick "patch" over the whole area with the gasket sealer (about the size of a quarter).
