1987 454 TBI stalls at idle after a short time
FYI, TBI primarily uses MAP for fuel trim. O2 sensor only effects trim after reaching operating temp and usually will not stay hot enough after idling a minute or so. As stated above, data would help immensely with diagnostics. Another item check for excessive AC voltage. Would be helpful...- fast 99

208 Milky fluid
Rather common, especially with front diffs that haven't been used enough. Condensation and no heat to burn water off. Water will usually emulsify. Check the vent, drain and refill.- fast 99

Doubtful, in 30 years of repair work only seen a handful of bad impellers. Those were in heavily rusted systems, impellers were rotted away. However, never want to say never when it comes to vehicles. How do the temps compare to the cluster reading?- fast 99

Go back to basics. Spark, fuel, timing by TDC and rotor position. If all checks out try a new set of plugs. Also check for 12V on choke thermostat. When it runs again set timing, check advances, vacuum, and reset carb idle mix. Of note, after an engine has been running rich, idle mix will need...- fast 99

check fuel level/float/ idle mixture, running. Should be fuel just below opening, side of bowl. Accelerator pump only works during acceleration. Idle mix screws adjust after float level. Nice squarebody on BaT

Edelbrock carbs on a 350 sm blk
Not saying Edlebrock carbs are bad. Have installed many with success. I do wonder how many are checked with a 02 meter or infrared? Slightly rich carbs will usually run just fine, lean not so much. What you describe actually sounds normal. What occurred that made you suspect overheating? NAPA has 2 lines of stats. Never had any luck with the economy line. Cylinder head temp will be 10-20 degrees hotter than stat. It is also normal temp to migrate up and down a little until engine heat...- fast 99

Leaking fuel
Bottom picture finger is pointing at breather. Loops back around into the square hole in air cleaner. Breather filter is missing also needs clip to attach it to air cleaner, sometimes included with filter. Drivers side valve cover should have the PCV valve.- fast 99

Respectfully disagree, after doing emission work for 20+ years brass floats to not react the same or hold fuel at the same level. I was dealing with less than 1/2% co in most cases. If not familiar with emissions that isn't much. Not suggesting taking a carb apart because it has a brass float...- fast 99
