    Horn wiring question

Found a good shot minus the plate. This tube in the cancel cam is where that wire goes it pushes in and turns you can kind of see the notch it locks into often the wire assembly is the part that gets broken but sometimes the tube can break off of the cancel cam for the turn signals. Even more...

Steady 5.5psi fuel pressure drops when warmed up

You may not need a regulator on a mechanical pump depending on its flow rate. I don't run a regulator on a 80GPH mechanical pump and feed dual 500s with 6psi.

    Horn wiring question

Are you missing the horn contact wire? Often time people will change the wheel or go into the column for turn signal switches etc. and either break the plastic part off or just outright leave them out. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rnb-49319

    Steering box

That's why I posted the Holly one I have its half the price and has 2-3 times the collapsable length and the correct splined ends. End A - 3/4 in. 30-spline x 3/4 in. DD End B - 1 in. 48-spline x 1 in. DD The DD section is the middle collapsible section. I'd rather have 6-8" of collapse then...

    Fan control/heat selector-aftermarket gripe

@Burkee1483 The 70s screws to the steel dash from the front then the plastic surround goes over it. Pull the cables thru the hole attach everything from the driver seat them screw the panel to the dash like you're installing a radio then the gauge surround goes over it. Mine has a block off...

    Fan control/heat selector-aftermarket gripe

As far as I know the holes in the face plate aren't threaded the screw passes thru and screws to the holes in the dash.

    Fan control/heat selector-aftermarket gripe

My original in my 78 was the same as pictured most likely they made the most common version and said screw it for the odd ball versions used 1 year or in very limited circumstances. Not uncommon for repop stuff.

    1985 4.3

Mine broke when running it quit moving and ran rough and made a clanging noise, was obvious it was broken. Compression test then look at the ignition system and fuel delivery. Was the eddy on it when you bought it? Wondering if previous owner washed it down a few times trying to get it...

Newly built 6 years ago. First time starting?

They make a tool to lube them with a drill, then spin it by hand and go from there.

You say that till you see a stuck cam bearing eat a cam tunnel. Or any stuck bearing eat the block for that matter.

    1985 4.3

Correct had to be the front half still firing, just remember tearing it down and finding the crank split in two like wtf.

Looking for longer lasting brakes (budget upgrade options?)

The HD brakes will soak up a bit more heat, but you would need to make sure you swap everything over as doing just one end or the other could cause a braking imbalance and cause issues.

    Hydroboost power steering pump difference

Just use your stock PS pump as long as it has good pressure and isn't leaking or sucking air it should work just fine. The bracketry you already have and if you ever need to replace the PS pump it'll be easier to get/swap out.

    Chuck’s engine build thread!

Can't blame you, I'd gotten to the point about 5 years ago I will no longer risk a flat tappet, especially after a buddies failed in the first 5 minutes of break in.

    Chuck’s engine build thread!

Scat rotating assembly should already be clearanced on the rod ends for the cam. The block should be the only thing to deal with there. Defiantly double check but typically its' done for you.
