What have you done to your square lately??

The 55 frame is flat & the Square frame dips between the engine & bed area. I made some stands to accommodate the difference. I may use the original frame later down the road but what I have concocted now is very drivable & usable. I used a bunch of leftovers to get it together years back so...

What have you done to your square lately??

It is a 2nd Series which makes it like the 56-59 trucks. Being a 6100 it has the wide grille/fenders & they have large wheel openings. I put it on my old trail rig 76 K20 chassis. It's GM Corp 10 bolt front & 14FF rear. SM465/NP205 trans/case with a 350 engine. Here's what I started with years...

Well, it's a Square in it's bones. Dad's ole 55 6100. I'm getting some free time & have received marching orders from the ladies (wife & daughter) to get it running so that we can use it for Christmas decorations again.Happy Santa

What have you done to your square lately??

I was finally able to work on my 78 after telling everyone else “NO”! The timing needs a bit of adjusting & may need to run back through the valves. It runs & sounds great even before the fine tuning. I have brakes but no power steering yet but that is on the way. The wiring was a mess but it...

K10 14bolt swap now rear brakes lock up before the front

Fot years I ran an 80 SB with a 14FF & 10 bolt 8 lug. I never had an issue with braking. Have you tried to ease up on the shoe adjustment to slow engagement? HS

    Transmission x-member 4X confusion

I just used an SM465/NP205 from an '80 K30 and put it in my '78 K20. The frame difference is a couple inches and when trying to use the K30 crossmember it was hanging too low; a couple inches from the frame. I had to dig through my stash of parts to find a K10/20 crossmember that would work. I...
