I have been to NCDMV every day this week with 6 trips but finally got my 79 registered. I'm enjoying my first sunset with it legal to drive. -

Roger that. I don't get that far south usually. I may take them off exit 49 and down NC53 to White Lake occasionally though. I have a '76 High Sierra K15 that I am hoping to get around to fixing soon. I've had it for over 30 years and it is definitely in need of restore. Again, welcome in and...- Strick

NP203 removal and rebuild
GM offered manual (stick) shift throughout the entire run of Squares. I have a 76 SM465/NP205 K15 & 78 K25 with the same setup. Heck, 25 years ago I had a K10 with the overdrive 4-speed/NP208. I'm not understanding your question right or something... Half-Stumped- Strick

Tranny issue for a newbie
Check the fluid level with it at operating temperature. If it's 4x4 make certain the transfer case isn't in neutral. HS- Strick

Question about center support bearing.
I changed one out last year and just used the cut-off wheel to remove the center race. I believe it was the easiest center bearing that I ever replaced. I totally agree with @DoubleDingo about it not being easy to go to the parts house and get the correct stuff either. Chinesium and the google...- Strick

Roger that. Aluminum heads is a fair amount already and I don't blame you one iota if you have the time and budget to go the extra mile. Doing a 383 is going to involve machine work on the pan rail and crankshaft area anyway. Keep us informed on the progress. HS -
