    That is true that LS's are line bored after the bearings are installed at the factory, so it's not uncommon for them to show some copper and be perfectly fine. I didn't do the cam bearings in the 5.3 in my C10 but I did do them in my '05 just because they felt like 60 grit sandpaper on the top...

    No way I'd trust one of those to support a roof tent and people/stuff as well. If it were me, I'd be building my own roof rack system to hold that.

    Can't speak on the wood but I'm very glad I went down to a 15" wheel vs the stock 16" for room's sake. You wouldn't think it but that extra inch makes a ton of difference. My buddy has a 14" Forever Sharp and it's too small, feels strange. I went with the Comfort Grip and am very happy with it

    Definitely do the lift springs if you wanna go 33s. My '85 K5 Blazer had 33x12.50 mud tires on stock suspension/rallies and it had torn up the front and rear of the front wheel openings

    Yep, that truck sits exactly how it should. If you wanna step up a couple tire sizes, you could put a 2" front spring on it for some more clearance without going too high

    Yeah, the only reason I ponied up for my 5.3/4L65 combo without seeing it run is cuz it came from a guy I know well and he had a video of it running in the Envoy before he pulled it. Plus it was in his personal stash, not just the normal pile of LS's he offers to the public (he owns/runs a junkyard)

    I would agree with this. If you were like me and doing a junkyard LS swap or just freshening up a higher mileage motor that still ran fine like I did on my '05, I wouldn't worry too much about machine shop work. But if you're gonna do a stroker and put the nice heads and everything on there...

    At that mileage, if it's been maintained, it may still be a decent buy if they'll do $1500. I don't think I'd go any higher than that. It also probably would benefit from a ring/bearing at that mileage as well. If that's the case, it's essentially a core and you can find 6.0s cores much cheaper...

    I agree with the others, I'd run that as well. I'd just check torque here and there for a while till you know they don't come loose.
