    84 K10 full exhaust replacement

I have nothing against 2.5" tubes but 2.25" will support about any streetable SBC you could put in that truck, might save you a few bucks. Other than that I'm not a big fan of headers even though I like how they sound, a used set of stock manifolds or some of the Hooker units already mentioned...

    Kick panel Speaker Mounts

It’s a little tricky, I originally cut the holes when I was in high school with the plasma cutter in welding shop. The hole is for 6.5” speakers. There are two compartments back there, the A pillar structure and the cowl vent. I had to cut the inner sheet metal to clear the magnet. In the...

    Kick panel Speaker Mounts

A lot of good info already, one thing that hasn't been mentioned yet, If the backside of the speaker is directly facing any hard surface the sound waves from the rear of the driver can bounce back towards the driver which can cause them to sound poor. A thin layer of open cell foam glued to...

    Would these shocks be good?

Another vote for no... Save that $200 to put towards better springs or for use on a rainy day.

    Brake light keeps going out

My left had an intermittent issue, turned out to be a spade terminal in the middle of the tail light harness tucked under some factory duct tape. It was oxidized and corroded so I cut it out, spliced in a short piece of wire and heat shrinked it.

    Would these shocks be good?

I’d gamble you’re on way more lift than 4” if you’re running 37” tires on an K5 unless the fenders are nearly trimmed off. Shocks can’t “fix” harsh riding springs no matter how much you spend on them. Springs are supposed to be able to slip and move as they cycle but I doubt a little lube will...

    87 V10 driveline

If your shaft end yokes and slip yoke are still serviceable you can take them in to a driveline service shop and have a new tube welded on your yokes for not too much money. Driveline shops should have the yokes in stock too but it greatly increases the price. Last one I had built needed the...

Have a great Snap On dealer finally

The problem is the promise of a warranty that they only honor when dealers know they will lose sales to that individual otherwise. Dad spent his whole life in the industry but I’d bet he’d be dismissed by most dealers for a warranty issue because they don’t know him.

    Rear Brakes Locking Up

Pictures…. It’s time for pictures, perhaps we may see an issue you overlooked. I’ve had my butt kicked in the past and would be ready to quit, my dad or a buddy would glance at it and point out a simple thing I had gone blind to. I’ll add if the RPO list is in the glove box get a picture of...

Have a great Snap On dealer finally

The amount of guys I work with that are paying down a $30-50K dollar Snap-On bill is ridiculous…. I don’t even work in the trades, they’re all guys that went to tech school or turned wrenches for a few years and changed professions before they even paid their tools off.

Have a great Snap On dealer finally

When I was in high school my dad asked me to catch the Snap On guy when he came through the shop to replace a 9/16 socket that was rounded out. Dealer told me “Just grind the end of the socket off to get past the worn part.” Then we argued whether he would warranty a tool I ground on…. I...

    Rear Brakes Locking Up

The first question was asking if the rear brakes were locking up before the work was done, did you not drive it before? The reason for the second question was “stock replacement” could still be wrong parts, due to different options many incorrect parts can still bolt right on and sometimes even...

A few clarifying questions: Did the problem exist before replacing everything? if not did you verify your new wheel cylinders and calipers had the same diameter pistons as the originals?

If you’re the type to make your own you could mold some Kydex to make a tailgate cap
