    Not enough info there. You need to know tail shaft lengths on the th350 and 400. At least find out what the THs were out of. The 1984 700r4 is not a very desirable 700r4 unless it's cheap and guaranteed to work. Other wise look for 1987 or newer

    There is more than one version of all of those transmissions. What year is his 700r4? What tailshaft length on the TH350 and TH400? Biggest killer of 700r4s is misadjusted TV cable.Were you messing with the cable or did a carb swap?

    You can use a lawn mower fuel cut off valve as a return line restrictor. Open it more for more bypass less for less bypass more pressure. It's what I am using have been for at least a couple of years.Was going to use a ball valve from the hardware store @bucket thought of the lawn mower shutoff.

    Low oil pressure, choke oil pressure switch is bad( and it's not typical oil pressure switch normally open closes with pressure) open circuit to choke oil pressure switch.

    TH350 from '84 GMC w/ 305. Trans appears to be leaking from the yoke on tailshaft.

    This is not the right answer^^^^ and not advisable. If your leaking there you are probably missing an oring or it is worn out.
