Fix this Paint? Any ideas that I do not have to repaint the whole Suburban?

Crossmember qustions
I'm not sure about the one on the right either. I've had a couple skid plate trucks with the double crossmember and they didn't have that one. Whatever they were used on, they are seemingly extremely uncommon.- bucket

What year is your 400/205 combo? If you have a round pattern case, neither of those will work. If you have a "figure 8" pattern case, both of those crossmembers will work.- bucket

Dipstick for SBC
The Mr Gasket one has been around as long as dirt. The style of pan doesn't matter, the proper level of oil in relation to the crank does not change. Be careful during installation. Not only does it need to clear the exhaust, you don't want it aiming at the brake booster. That can be annoying...- bucket

Yes, the nv4500 has been kinda the overdrive go-to here as well. As I'm sure you know, they are getting harder to find and are expensive though. There's the rare overdrive 4 speed that was available in the 80's that would be a simple swap... but it is rare. There's also a Tremec option if you...- bucket

The rear barn door release handle had broke on the white van. The linkage pivot had broken off. Reparing it was super simple. I drilled out the center and tapped it to 1/4" thread, then threaded in a stainless allen bolt to act as a stud. Then it was just a matter of bolting the linkage back on...- bucket

I'll add that the Ford Econoline vans kept the 8x6.5 bolt pattern, till end of production as far as I know. As did the GM vans, the current ones still use the 8x6.5 bolt pattern.- bucket

Yep. I can make just about anything work. I just was hoping for a simple, direct swap so I don't end up with another snowball project. I don't have it yet, but I do have an axle assembly lined up. -

Damn. Sounds like I accidentally lowballed my buddy. I told him I'd pay 200 (which he accepted) for his complete Vortec 7.4 injection setup that he won't be using. I had thought I was ponying up for it.
