Fix this Paint? Any ideas that I do not have to repaint the whole Suburban?

I won't bet the farm on it, but I'm nearly certain my '88 Burb was single stage (It had been resprayed in base/clear and the clear is wearing thin). My old '90 Burb was original paint and it was base/clear. At any rate, the OP's rig is NOT wearing it's original paint and the clearcoat delam is...

    Crossmember qustions

I'm not sure about the one on the right either. I've had a couple skid plate trucks with the double crossmember and they didn't have that one. Whatever they were used on, they are seemingly extremely uncommon.

    Crossmember qustions

What year is your 400/205 combo? If you have a round pattern case, neither of those will work. If you have a "figure 8" pattern case, both of those crossmembers will work.

    Dipstick for SBC

The Mr Gasket one has been around as long as dirt. The style of pan doesn't matter, the proper level of oil in relation to the crank does not change. Be careful during installation. Not only does it need to clear the exhaust, you don't want it aiming at the brake booster. That can be annoying...

    Th400 to standard transmission

Yes, the nv4500 has been kinda the overdrive go-to here as well. As I'm sure you know, they are getting harder to find and are expensive though. There's the rare overdrive 4 speed that was available in the 80's that would be a simple swap... but it is rare. There's also a Tremec option if you...

GMC Savana, Plus a Chevy Express Now Too

The rear barn door release handle had broke on the white van. The linkage pivot had broken off. Reparing it was super simple. I drilled out the center and tapped it to 1/4" thread, then threaded in a stainless allen bolt to act as a stud. Then it was just a matter of bolting the linkage back on...

GMC Savana, Plus a Chevy Express Now Too

So, van update time. I bought some ambulances a while back. Sold two of them, still have two. One has been a daily driver since this past fall. My son broke the transmission in his C1500 a while back, so he started driving the yellow van everyday. My wife then stole my white van from me and...

Well, in their defense, they did want to know HOW TO remove the headliner. Lol sorry, I couldn't resist.

What have you done to your square lately??

Damn, I never realized they were lower case. There was probably someone working at the scrap yard that was very happy to pick through that stuff, lol.

You callin' me a slacker?! Because if so... you would be correct sir, lol. It's not something I've noticed, so either you are fixing it before I see it, or I'm just plain ignorant

I believe those clips are actually some type of spring steel. They deserve more credit than you are giving them, lol.

What new tools have you got lately?

I got a new pair of cable cutters, a dedicated 3/16" tubing bender and I also finally got a windshield knife. I also picked up this extension cord on clearance. I've never seen this stupid label before:

    16.5 to 16 wheels 1977 Chevy C20

I'll add that the Ford Econoline vans kept the 8x6.5 bolt pattern, till end of production as far as I know. As did the GM vans, the current ones still use the 8x6.5 bolt pattern.

14 Bolt 10.5" Rear Axle -FOUND-

Yep. I can make just about anything work. I just was hoping for a simple, direct swap so I don't end up with another snowball project. I don't have it yet, but I do have an axle assembly lined up.

Nope. I hate that garbage. The cheap stuff never stays on, the expensive stuff never can be removed. And it looks like trash, imho. Lol.

I don't remember which model they are. I put them on with the intention of doing a single 4" tailpipe (got one already), but it's been over 2 years and still nothing.

Yeah, so the whole process of selling stuff these days is a terrible one, which is why I can't blame you to scrap that stuff. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. If there's potential value in something to someone at some point, I tend to hang onto it. It's not a lifestyle for everyone and I...

Damn. Sounds like I accidentally lowballed my buddy. I told him I'd pay 200 (which he accepted) for his complete Vortec 7.4 injection setup that he won't be using. I had thought I was ponying up for it.
