    77 K10 LS Swap

Yes this is set with drive by wire, the pedal assembly is out of a 2005 pickup and required a bit of modification to work in the 77. I have been working on this truck for 2 years now.

I intend to install new O2 sensors soon, as far as i know the ones I am running have 180k on them. I have been looking around at different O2 options and keep coming back to Ac Delco 213-1702 $36 on Amazon. Anyone have thoughts on what O2 sensors work best with LS swaps and long tube headers?

    Timing Cover Crisis

Wow, sorry to hear about the oil leak. A hole in the timing cover? Very interesting. Do you think it is from rust, or maybe a timing mark flange spot weld failure? Either way it sucks. I have removed the cover without dropping the pan, at the same time I do not suggest doing it. If your...

    77 K10 LS Swap

I was looking back over this thread and realized it begins after a lot of work had been completed and with start of a new year approaching I feel compelled to go back in time and include a few pics from when this project began.

    77 K10 LS Swap

I have been getting trouble codes p0135 and p0155 on a regular basis. Sometimes right after resetting codes, others times days latter. I have 12 volts to both sensors, both sensor heater circuits read 6.5 ohms and all wires from sensor plugs to PCU check out. I am running long tube headers...

Headers for ls swap with sm465

Glad to hear you found a set of headers that work.

Headers for ls swap with sm465

Check Schoenfeld headers. Shorties may work. 2010ish Camaro SS manifolds should clear.

Hope these help. But it does not look like a slave cylinder will fit.

    77 K10 LS Swap

Just went back and looked through some pis of the DS header. I currently do not have a good angle on the slave cylinder mount. As soon as I get a chance I will get some better pics of the slave cylinder mounting area. Keep in mind I am using a Advance Adapters bell housing and had to trim a...

    5.3 build pushrod question

I did a an AFM delete last summer in my wife's 2015 Yukon. Got my parts from Texas Speed, I highly recommend them. Yes I do believe the push rods need to be swapped out as well as valve springs. May also require cam phaser limiter kit. Not sure about oil pump, I think the 4 required a new oil...

Finally. The exhaust is done. Delta flow Flowmaster 40s sound great.

    77 K10 LS Swap

Have been having problems with the drives side window not wanting to roll up. With the door panel removed I saw that the window track frame spot welds had broke allowing the glass to fall out its track. Nothing a couple welds couldn't fix.

    77 K10 LS Swap

I was beginning to think I had some serious problem in the transfer case, but after finding the u joint issue I am very relieved. Actually ran down the highway at 70 this morning. Couldn’t do that before. The truck is a pleasure to drive again. Made an appointment to have the exhaust done Friday.

    77 K10 LS Swap

Also had time to take a closer look at the drive shaft. Still experiencing a vide/wobble. Had the truck on jack stands in gear so I could visually see what is going on. Could see the wobble. After i shut down the truck I started to flip the drive shaft around just for grins. Thats when I...

    77 K10 LS Swap

The temp gauge worked better but not as I expected. Then I had a thought. There is no coolant flow across the sensor. So I drilled and taped the into the side of the adapter and ran the steam line to it. Now the temp reads right on the gauge.

The adapter showed up today. Would not fit in passenger side head do to clearance with firewall. So it was mounted in water pump where the mini sensor was. So far so good. Did not have time to get up to full operation temp. Will see how will it works on my way to work tomorrow.

Thanks. That is great info. I noticed that LMC carries 3 different temp gauges. 73-75. 76-79 1st design. 79-87 2nd design. I originally thought the only difference was the face. With what Hatzie mentioned the difference between the 1st and 2nd design should be the resistance curve.

ICTBillet 551149. I think this the quick easy solution. Will mount in passenger side head.

    77 K10 LS Swap

Forgot to mention that the gauge does appear to be ok. Grounding the sensor wire maxes out the gauge. At the moment I am either considering somehow using the 77 sensor or seeing if it is possible to make the 3 wire work with my gauge. That brings up the question of what is different between...

    77 K10 LS Swap

Ok. The factory 1977 coolant temp sensor for gauges reads 623 ohms setting on my work bench. 40 degrees outside today. The 3 pin 1998 camaro sensor reads 2.6k ohms. Hmmm. Just for fun I went to Autozone and had them pull coolant sensor for an 80 C10 and it was not only a different sensor than...

    77 K10 LS Swap

Installed the new coolant temp sensor and pig tail today. Did not work. Well, it gave me the same result I was getting from the mini senor I installed in the water pump, barley registering a temp. Its either a bad gauge or the sensor and gauge are incomparable.
