How to measure 14 bolt drum?

BTW I’m replacing my rear lines without hoses too, not that difficult.

How to measure 14 bolt drum?

Thanks very much. All I know is my Dana 44 had 13” (12.5) rotors when I got it, and when I replaced the rotors and calipers Napa gave me 13” rotors (12.5 actually) but the calipers they gave me wouldn’t fit over them and when I returned the calipers they said they should have asked me which...

Upgrade master cylinder with a disc brake conversion?

I just found out I’ve got 13” discs on the front ( Dana 44). and 11” drums on the rear, so if I put discs on the rear I can go to 13”, same parts as up front. I doubt it’s easy to find 13” back plates, ( to keep it drum) but might start looking.

How to measure 14 bolt drum?

How are drums measured? I thought inside. But the ID on my 14 bolt is only 11” and when I got rotors for the front they gave me 13” because they said my rear brakes were 13”. Trying to order from Rick Auto, which has no phone help. They have 11 and 13” drums. Mine are 13 1/2 OD Thanks

Upgrade master cylinder with a disc brake conversion?

Any idea where I can get the right proportioning valve?

Upgrade master cylinder with a disc brake conversion?

When doing a conversion to disc brakes is it a good idea to go to a later model master cylinder/booster that served four disc brakes? I’ve been watching some YouTube videos on the swap and only heard one comment on it, he changed out his old master/booster for a later model one. I thought I...

    Leaf springs need help

I just got a 79 K20 4x4 that rides like a boat and looks like a two wheel drive. It’s had a tough life hauling hay on bumpy roads. I’d like to just get it back to original, but don’t know whether to trust the suppliers on what to get, or get some more springs from a yard and just add some...

What type of transfer case do I have in my truck ?

AA sells a flywheel for this that is bored "for the bigger NV4500 pilot bearing"

What type of transfer case do I have in my truck ?

I've never seen a flywheel that didn't have a pilot bearing, thats where the end of the tranny input shaft rides. Some are bushings and some are ball bearing but they all have some kind of bearing.

What type of transfer case do I have in my truck ?

Not sure which "adapter for that setup" you are referring to, the factory 84 and earlier or the AA?

What type of transfer case do I have in my truck ?

Thats good to know. I think my 79 NP205 has a long shaft and the figure 8 bolt pattern same as if it were bolted to the TH400 instead of my SM465. Anyway, the Advance Adapter kit, part # 50-0217 will work really well because it replaces the tail/adapter thats on my NV4500 now, instead of...

What type of transfer case do I have in my truck ?

Thanks, to a shorter input and then what? Where are those shorter inputs available? If I use an AA adapter it moves my T case stick back under the seat so I’m very interested. According to AA the Nv4500 has two spline tooth numbers on it’s output shaft and their adapter requires cutting...

What type of transfer case do I have in my truck ?

Nice job, do you have one of the 205 T case on the 4500?

What type of transfer case do I have in my truck ?

I was referring to the T case shifter not the 4500. which year 205 did you use?

What type of transfer case do I have in my truck ?

My 205 has 8 bolts in a figure 8 pattern, whereas my NV4500 has six, but I stand corrected. I should have said my 79 205 wont bolt to my 05 nv4500. Which is why Advance Adapters developed their NV4500 to NP205 adapter. You can check it out on their website, it’s part # 50-0217, I think. I...

What type of transfer case do I have in my truck ?

Meant: AA has a flywheel that’s machined for the pilot hearing, not a bell

What type of transfer case do I have in my truck ?

The 205 doesn’t bolt to a NV4500 and they have different splines. The $600 adapter that Advanced Adapter sells comes with a spline adapter sleeve that’s 32 tooth on the NV4500 end. The NV4500 case is about 13” long, and the GM adapter that comes with it is about 7 or 8 inches long, it’s got...

Pictures of NV4500 to NP261 adapter

My first attempt at posting pictures so don’t know if they’re going to show. Im curious to know why there are 2 gears inside this adapter, and why they’re engaged full time ( it seems to me) with the main shaft. Don’t see any shifter on them. Thanks
