    The wires come attached to the new modules and the plugs are also new. It never backfired in the 7 years I've owned it , that is until I replaced the coils so I don't think it the carb.

    I just replaced both ignition modules on my 23 hp kohler sv820 which fixed the skipping/ dyeing but now it starts hard and backfires out the exhaust when I put a load on it. (mower) Kohler says the air gap should be 0.011-0.013 so I used a 0.012 business card. I'll be checking the gaps again...

    You pic doesn't show. I'd drill the hole and be done with it, as long as it doesn't show in the end....You could also get a plastic plug to fit the hole.

I really want to clean the tag up but in doing so I know it will remove the printed info. And If it's not reproduced ( I've been looking and have come up...

    Thanks Taylor, I'm going to soak it in some carb cleaner and then give it a try. I started with a slot, but it didn't budge. thats when I drilled the hole.

    Sort of an update, pulled the carb to rebuild it and noticed this, could this be causing the super rich fuel mix? secondary metering rods are wide open.
