    I used Prothane body mount bushings, didn't come with instructions but figured them out pretty quick. But I misplaced my core support bolts...... does anyone off hand know what the size and length are?

    I agree for the most part, just seen the bed and the body liens look very similar, wondering if anyone had seen anything of the sort. 99.99% of the time bed swaps don't end well......

    I found here local the bed off of a 2015 model Silverado...... it appears the body lines on the newest Gm trucks are very similar to the old squares, any thoughts on this? I can get a good deal on this bed and if would work i think it would be a awesome swap.

    Yeah, I've found a cheap truck bezel that will let me recess the gauges in more just hadn't had a chance to undo everything i have got done to modify the other bezel. Also found a immaculate dash out of a 82, but not sure if i want to change to the newer style dash pad or not. But, the newer...

    Just put this one in today, I think it's a 14???? It's a grant but can't remember the series, wife bought it for me Christmas last year. The dang bowtie one the horn button is crooked though.

    Got the dog house back on, not done aligning everything. Also my new grant steering wheel in it, the bow tie is crooked on my horn button.... Maybe I can hear it up with a heat gun and move it?

    One engine over haul it's entire life, 4spd was redone at one point because it started to jump out of 4th. Steering column broke, so a column out of a s10 was put in.

    I wish I could can the smell of that old truck and sell it. It smells inside exactly how it looks, like a 40 year old truck owned by a greasy tractor mechanic who chewed to many packs of redman.

    No restoring this old beast I'm afraid, still gets used on a daily basis and has been since new. It's only features are heat and power steering, cheap truck. Grandpa said he didn't need a radio and didn't like automatics. Here is a picture of the bullet hole he shot in the fender a few months...

    Cab mounts are surprisingly solid, firewall is gone, when I pulled the air box a couple years ago to replace heater core the firewall came with it, had to rig up a sheet of aluminum to have something to attach it back too.

    I've got a pretty bad 1980 model, bought brand new by my grandfater.. the rust is some of the worst I've ever seen, any one else got some this way?

    I believe it would look better with the cheap truck bezel than the silverado one, the cheap truck would let the gauges recess more than just flat with the face of the bezel. I have one but it's cracked in a few places and had been hacked one at some point in its life of i would have rather used it.

    Holley EFI gauges, 4.5" for GPS tach and Speedo, 2/16" for others. Took 80-grit flap wheel and buzzed off the back side of bezel flat, then retaining rings just hold the gauges in. Not sure if I'm happy with how they sit in there but it was super easy to set up and I'm going to roll with it...

    It definitely made things easier to get too haha. Dog house had to come off any way for the new core support bushings and I have new fenders and inner fenders, figured well if I've got all this off the routing of the fuel lines and a ton of wiring for EFI will be easier with out it in the way...

    4in rough country complete spring lift, and the dual steering stabilizer. Went on easy, the tires are a IronMan 35x12.50R20 on 20x10 Raceline Gold wheels.

    So much has been done and so much more to do....... plumbing in fuel system currently, but brakes are done, and motor is in!

    Built the rest of my instrument cluster, 4.5" holley EFI tach and GPS speedo then 2-1/16" pod gauges, temp, voltage, oil pressure and fuel level.

    The worst rust is the bed on mine, other than floor pans its really solid. I'm currently looking for a nice long bed, but here in KY its hard to find anything rust free. I scored those blue and white doors off of CL for $80 for the pair.
