Container based shop: 2 post lift placement advice?

Instead of getting a 20 foot tall carport to put his 4 post under, he mounted the metal carport to the lift itself. But yes, ill try and get pictures. He's in the Nova club but has a 50's truck he brings to Dino's every year.

Container based shop: 2 post lift placement advice?

14 Bolt 10.5" Rear Axle -FOUND-

Pretty sure you know all this but... Vans also were available with the 14B FF. It is the same track width as the D44/60 so all your tires look even. They make a speedi sleeve for the spindles and also ORD sells the OBS style seal if you can't find an axle with good spindles.

    Drag link recommendations

I think Pro- Forged might be the best these days as every other brand has failed me. In the last 6-12 mos, my sons S10 has had 1 lower ball joint, 1 upper ball joint, and a center link all failed. The torque spec is 46 ft pounds and they strip as low as 35 foot pounds. I thought maybe my son...

Will 1990 Suburban front seats swap into a 1990 K5 Blazer?

I "think" the K5 brackets and tracks can be transferred to the Burb seats. I started to do this on my '89 Jimmy 20 years ago but then used NBS seats with heaters and power.

    1990 gmc jimmy

Welcome, '90 should have Np241 unless somebody swapped it previously. Also should have electric speedometer so you can reuse the gauges. Tomorrow, the 28th, is the Reunion show in Mesa. Should be a few hundred square body trucks there and some vendors. Lots of inspiration...

    Beauty Rings/With or Without

I like the narrow ring look. I've been looking for some for 19.5's but the last company that made them went out of of business a few years back.

    Replacement Seat Opinions

Have you considered Suburban buckets? I installed some in my Crewcab. You do have to weld a bracket in.

    Zero rates

I had a 4" spring and 1" zero rate with 35" and later 37" tires. I never felt i needed crossover steering as it rode well. I did feel that I could have used another inch or so of lift with the 37's when they were articulating. If you decide to go crossover, the factory swaybar interferes and...

Jimmy Tailgate Band What's it worth?

I think Huck is on point with his valuation. I do find that trim, even perfect trim, is hard to sell for these trucks. Lots of beautiful modded trucks being built, but not a lot of people truly restoring squares. I had a perfect 73-80 tailgate band listed for a $100(LMC repro is $200) and never...

    C30, 85 with a narrow dually

Don't some run the narrow axle(C&C) so you can run standard semi rims and not have to get custom inners???

Adding weight and insulation to LMC replacement doors

I spray in Lizard Skin on most panels. It makes them feel more solid and cuts the vibration when sanding. I've used dynamat before and works as well. When I was early 20's, I worked at HD and on the cheap bathtubs that people would buy for rentals, I would suggest a can of undercoat and seemed...

    1964 Chevy ll ls1/t56 swap

I would add the firewall reinforcement from DSE. If you drive aggressively, the firewall on these cars can bend. The factory had a brace that ran from the firewall to the front of the dash under the gauges.

    Another door cylinder lock question

I totally derailed this thread already so I'll keep it going. My grandfather in the 50-60's worked for a gas company in Texas. My dad said he would climb inside the tanks still with gas/ oil to weld and do repairs while smoking. Never had an issue but died in his early 60's from heart disease...

    Another door cylinder lock question

Cigarettes don't burn hot enough to light gas so technically you could smoke as long as you don't strike a match or use a lighter.

Who Sells The Best Wiring For Electric Windows and Locks

Not to derail...but has anyone sourced the rubber door conduits for the rear doors on Burbs/ CC. LMC shows it being the same as front but on my truck it's substantially smaller diameter.

    Sealing Bed Wood

I taked to a boat shop for advice. Unfortunately i dont remember it all. Since we used pine we also had to use something first to keep it from splotching. Then some high dollar stain and sealer but was able to buy all at HD. Took a lot of hours and stains look vastly different on woods and...

    Under bed Fuel Tank

Great that you are able to design, build, pressure test, etc your own tank but if you want to save time there are several manufacturers that sell pre-made under bed tanks for these trucks: CPP, POL, Tanks Inc, Ricks, etc. On our '77 C10, I used a Boyd Welding tank as it was priced competively...

Need part number on dash light holder

I agree on the reason for bad reviews is the touchscreen dash. Odd that people post bad reviews though as every time I go on the site he posts updates and offers to refund money for anyone dissatisfied with delays. He seems to be a perfectionist and wants to sell a quality product and not just...
