    Wtb: old license plates

You should be able to get those pretty easily at a local swap meet. Near me(Phoenix), they usually about $2-3 each for newer plates and starting around $10 for vintage.

1991 suburban sunvisors in 1987 pickup? Will they fit?

Yes, they interchange ok. Some of the later trucks have dimples already in the sheetmetal and just need to be drilled. You will also need to get the wiring harness which is like 20 gauge with a very small connector. I added them to my 89 K5 (Jimmy)and am adding to my '90 C30 (CC DRW) While you...

Two plastic spacers are used with the headliner and possibly longer screws. Probably be fine without the spacers.

That was my first thought but it would be about 6" too low. I must be missing a bracket or something?

    Body trim molding 1977

Pretty sure there was only 2 manufacturers of reproduction: the one that LMC and others sell, and the Mar-K which was much, much higher quality, however they are out of business. So I think its going to come down to price unless you can find some NOS or old stock of Mar-k.

Is there a reliable source for dually fenders?

The trend ive seen the last few years is to build stepsides using narrower beds and dually fenders. Looks stock. Ive never really loved the look of GM stepsides. Actually prefer the Fords look.

Is there a reliable source for dually fenders?

Short answer is yes. Long answer is: out of stock, production issues, etc There is a company that makes widened ones. I keep a constant search on CL and OU and try and buy them when close to me and a reasonable price. However ive only been able to buy 3 drivers sides. I assume they are...

Internally v. Externally Balanced 383 ID

Glad you got your answer. When I was working at PAW in the 90's, the 383 assembly we produced was extremely popular and it seemed like we were selling/shipping 5 a day of the Scat stroker cranks. Super rare to slow down production to build an internal balanced assembly. Only the most hardcore...

1984 Winnebego RV P30 Chassis 454 Th475 and REAR DISK BRAKES.

i totally understand. Ive had to unstick a few. I just wouldn't trust a hydraulic parking brake as pressure bleeds off eventually. And the hydraulic brake system is only designed for "momentary" loads and not designed to maintain pressure for extended periods. Best option is to install mag...

    Ditching Dual Tanks

I went with Boyd as they were the only ones that would do a centerfill. Everyone else was offset.

1984 Winnebego RV P30 Chassis 454 Th475 and REAR DISK BRAKES.

The P30 was also available in the 8x6.5 pattern so brakes are available. Frito-Lay trucks were the most common.

Legally, parking brake has to be mechanical. For temporary use, lots of trucks have MICOs which is a lever that holds the hydraulic pressure to the wheel.

    17 inch steel wheels- 81 C10 2wd 5/6 static drop.

You dont need to spend money on the fitment tool unless you really want to. 2 pieces of wood is all it takes. One mounted to lugs, and the other T'd off the top.

    17 inch steel wheels- 81 C10 2wd 5/6 static drop.

The selection of 17" tires has shrunk greatly in the last 10 years. If you are buying new wheels, I'd go 18" or 20". And if you ever go big brakes, most require 18's.

    New bed side recommendations?

If you could post pictures and prices, it would be helpful, however you must have 20-25 meaningful posts before selling/buying in the marketplace. Im sure myself and others are interested.

The 4 bolt main LIE !!! Or is it???

Sidetracking a bit.. The machine shop i worked at probably shipped 10-20 complete performance motors a day, 5 days a week for 20 years. Probably another 20 reciprocating assemblies daily as well. It was amazing how few failures we actually experienced. Unless a customer upgraded to ARP or...

The 4 bolt main LIE !!! Or is it???

It was never about the number of bolts in SBC/ BBC, it was main cap surface area that was important to GM. When the stroke increased as the 350 was introduced the bigger and heavier rotating mass increased the instance of cap walk. So yes, a 4 bolt is technically weaker than a 2 bolt as it has...

Need longbed to shortbed links please

I used the Built by Brooks to shorten our C10 frame. Wasn't perfect but pretty close and very strong. For the actual sheet metal, unless you have absolutely perfect bedsides and original paint, I'd probably just cut the bedfloor and bolt new/ used shortbed bedsides to save time and labor. Or...
