What new tools have you got lately?

Have you seen the pneumatic rams with the remote control. They seem  cool to me. One person operation.

What new tools have you got lately?

Toe and heel bar. It has to have an open end wrench or a socket on one end to be a spud wrench. :) Used in Iron work or putting large pipe flanges together here on the Gulf coast.

    Ignition overhaul

Yes, that's what I call the pickup.

    Which Impact Tool

Dewalt for the win! They make several case sizes in the 1/2" drive model. We all use them here in the Petro chemical plants.

    Ignition overhaul

I'm guessing it's an HEI dizzy. Did you change the electronic module? I had the wires back out of the plastic connecter on my 79 truck one time. The plug looked ok when you attached to the dizzy, but they didn't make contact. I had problems with the Accel brand distributors. The pickups go...

What have you done to your square lately??

Here are the part numbers that I used. My truck has the double 20-gallon tank option. These parts numbers are for the driver's side. It is an 85 long bed model. Now on to replacing the pass side tank, switching valve and tank hoses for both sides.

What have you done to your square lately??

I finally got around to replacing this cobbled up junk from the PO. It looks much better. Maybe when filling the tank, the gas won't spit back out at me. We will see.

First Square body, now the fix it while I'm in there issues.

Nice truck. What's your budget? Your power numbers are on the high side for a truck build imhop. I don't think the stock heads will get you near that number. Big port cast iron heads might with a decent cam. What's you intended use for the truck? Aftermarket parts are expansive for BB chevys. Is...

    Glow Shift Gauges review

I have the vacuum /boost gauge. It works ok. The back light changes color which is cool. The light flashing not so much.

Big oil filter downsides? such as WIX 51794 or ACDelco PF932

I think there was a class action lawsuit against Arco for that oil. If I remember correctly it clogged up the oil passages, filters etc. It didn't happen in all climates, probably the cold ones.

    Soften the ride.

That's the boat I'm in also. My truck has factory negative arched springs, but with an extra leaf. At least that what it looks like to me. It is lifted because the truck sits level with a 2" block in the rear.

    Soften the ride.

My K -10 rides like a buck board wagon. It looks to have the same front springs as your truck. I disconnected the anti-sway bar, and it made a little difference. I also replaced the n2 filled shocks to a plain oil filled softer shock and it helped. I also drive on roads similar to you. Short of...

What have you done to your square lately??

I added a headache rack to my 85. The lines of the rack look great with the cab lines. IMHOP. It doesn't sit above the roof height except the end caps.

    Accelerator Cable Replacement

Thats what I need to do. My pedal is a bugger to push. It hurts my old knee. I wonder if there are differences if the truck had cruise control? Mine did at one time. Long since removed.

    Summit bolt on exhaust system?

I bought the Summit brand for my K-10. It went together well. It came with two options on the tail pipe exit. Straight out the back or behind the rear tires. I had it welded at the local muffler shop when I had finished it. It's been on the truck for 4 years.

Which cam for a carbed 350 vortec?

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-14097395/make/chevrolet Here is a link to the cam. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/pqx-0835002 The rocker arms. I can't think of the springs that I used.

Which cam for a carbed 350 vortec?

Thats the exact cam that I went with. It's the HT 383, Ramjet cam. The lift will play nice with the pressed in studs on the heads. I did use new springs along with the self-aligning roller tipped rockers. It will idle at 600, pulls to 5K rpms.

    85 K15 rear spring swap from 52" to 56" W/ 6" lift

    Cold air intake

How's the truck set up now? The stock truck set ups from a LS based truck are probably sufficient for what you are wanting to do. I have a KN set up on my 04 2500. The fitment never was very good. It came loose on the T-body, the filter fell off of its mount.

    Stock Chevy 350 power upgrades

A camshaft, headers, gears, intake manifold all would give some performance. The Eddy 1406 will have to be tuned if you make changes. In all reality a good tune up would probably surprise you with a performance gain. Timing, plugs wires, dizzy cap. If the emission systems are in good working...

I’m building my first 383 stroker and need suggestions.

Your choice of the cam shaft decides the rest of the build.
