Just bought a 86c10 305 700r4 combo. Tranny will engage in all forward and reverse gears, but will not move unless revved super high there is a loose part that is on drivers sode that goes into transmission. Will tighten it tomorrow and see if that does anything. I was thinking maybe torque converter. Either way i guess im on hunt for a cheap used 700 while i pull the #s matchimg one out to be rebuilt. Any help or opinions would be appreciated

Sounds like a slipping trans. Check fluid level and see if it smells burned. Also double check if tv cable is hooked up

Save the engine, don’t rev it too high, and ditto on checking the fluid. Should not be dark and/or smelly.

If TV cable isn’t connected or mis adjusted, your tranny is toast.
