Does anybody know of a place to get a drop in bed liner for my 86? I’ve been unsuccessful in finding any since mines the 8 foot bed.

I also like the idea of spray. traditional plastics use to rub the paint under them,
and I wonder how long a plastic one will last in an Arizona frying pan.

Yes you are right, truck is too old for those type of aftermarket parts/accessories.

My suggestion is call and old established Chey/GMC dealer. Ask if they have a part number for the GM bed liner kit. If they can find the number, search the number.

Otherwise, wrecking yard/U-pull It, etc.

AND hold moisture under/behind them. . . .

I found mine on facebook marketplace for $40. Had a bit of a drive to get it though.

You can get a Raptor spray in bedliner kit from Amazon for about $150 and do it yourself. I just did mine last week. It is easier than painting and overspray is minimal. I happen to have a drop in bedliner in my parts truck you can have. Spray in bedliner will be cheaper than driving to NC for my drop in.

How about making one from marine ply and screws. Easy to make, robust, and if you oil it it will withstand the sun for a while at least. Also easily removable, and you can add in timber to support a second level load, or cover for tools etc.
I prefer my beds with the original paint, however its wet here, and the moisture creeps under the coating and peels off leaving a large rust patch. ( Probably not an issue for you in the desert tho .. )

I bought mine from CARID but they no longer sell them. Here is the part info if you want to search around:
Chevy CK Pickup Fleetside 6' 5" (78.7") Bed 1985, Under Rail Bed Liner (81002SRX) by Pendaliner®.

It was only $200 shipped when I got it a few years back. Looks like $300+ now.
