Hi,
Joined up to educate myself on Square Blazers.
Picked up a 88' K5 for my son and I to work on. Frame is real nice, body/tub is very bad in the floors.
Was surprised to see NO 1-pc Full Floor Front Sections available for sale aftermarket.
Got to looking at the single new floor pans patch panels included and how the factory designed the floors. I am decided to Fab floors out of steel diamond plate.
The goal for this truck is to be a tough working truck, trail rig, for months there is no salt down.
I am not going to replace floor w "thin" weak sheet metal of factory design. I seen a nice pic of a guy who did diamond plate it looks good.
Seeing how my cab/body is essentially "floor-less" I need to rebuild B-Pillar and tie "hoop" back together.
Once I have the *** B-Pillar rebuilt, I can figure out what to use for the floor support/cross brace *****. The factory part is quite rusty and definitely bent from body sag.
These guys that off-road these hard must use an alternative part in this location???
Could you guys please send me in the direction I need to go to research HD floor pan and B-Pillar Hoop work.
Then I could get the B pillar mounts hooked up and some front brakes plumbed. Steering shaft connected. Rolling stopping project. I really want to get to that point ASAP.
A loose and sagged out body on the frame is no fun!
