OK I am on to the next fix on my 87 V10- fixing the Gages. The Oil Pressure Gage does not work. Thought I would replace the sending unit for starters. It's not there. Threaded hole is there above the oil filter- looks like 1/4 NPT. There does not appear to be a plug yet I have been driving the truck for 3 years with oil obviously not pouring out. I stuck a screwdriver in there and it goes in 4" and hits nothing.......Maybe a plug deep on the inside? The single blade connector is there for the sensor. Would one work if I just screwed it in and connected it or is there a plug deep inside that someone put in that I need to remove?

Also near the distributor is supposed to be the fuel pump cut off switch. It's missing too. There is a small brass plug- looks like 1/8 NPT where it would go. The connector is there too. I assume I can just put one in and connect it? Any harm that it never had one?

OK yes it's the hole above this one that I was referring to. And it is the clutch linkage hole and not used. The one you circled can I remove the plug and install the oil pressure sender switch there? Is it 1/8 or 1/4 NPT?

I have a gauge project in the future so I'm always peeping on these threads.

yes and yes. It will depend on what year and type of engine you have in there. I believe it would be 1/8, but I would just pull the plug out and take it with me to the parts store.

Me too. I need to feed an electric choke with the one that is supposed to be by the distributor. Gen IV BBC. Haven't seen the plug yet, but to be fair, I'm under the truck more lately than suspending myself over the air cleaner. Might have to tee off the guage sending unit spot for my particular needs. We'll see.
