The 4 bolt main LIE !!! Or is it???
All Gen 5 and Gen 6 BBC blocks are factory 4 bolt, with parallel drilled bolts. The only way to build a splayed cap BBC is to use a MK4 2 bolt, or buy an aftermarket block. You're absolutely correct on the oil galley. My machinist drilled right into them. His approach to this was to chuck up 3...- Wumbo

Machine shop rates have gotten ridiculous. I had my 496 block set up with Dart Big M splayed caps, bored and honed, and decked, grand total was $2K in labor. Next time I do a splayed main block it will just come direct from Dart.- Wumbo

Oil dipstick
I've done it in the past with no issues. Drain the coolant in the radiator before you pull the bolt, or you will have a lot of coolant on the floor.- Wumbo

Blocked 4th accumulator feed by tapping and plugging the feed hole. Blocked the line bias valve with a piece of aluminum rod Plate now- Wumbo

Yes, I blocked 4th accumulator. 1-2 accumulator Im using a Sonnax pinless, and haven't commited to what spring to use. The springs that were in the 1-2 accumulator were white (outer) and purple (inner) I believe, but too large a diameter to use with the pinless piston, and extremely stiff. I...- Wumbo

Busy week, but got back into it. Finished the pump. Pump clearance was .0011 on slide and rotor. It did have a .500 boost valve, but I replaced it with a Sonnax o-ringed .500 boost valve and reverse boost valve. Also installed Sonnax TCC valve with teflon sealing ring.
