Thanks Luke. I'm not doing any more than pulling it and reinstalling it when the time comes. I have a guy who's pretty good, just kind of pricey. Will running it as is hurt it badly? Like damaging expensive parts-or am I just going to burn up already toasted parts? I'd like to use the truck...- Wrecker

I picked up a 92 3500 dually with a dump bed for a song on ebay. The tranny was supposed to be bad but when I got the truck fired up, it is drivable. It slips a little mainly in reverse and doesn't shift firmly at all but does catch all gears. I don't want to drive it any more before changing...- Wrecker

Rear disc brakes on the cheap
The drum brakes have a small residual pressure valve in the master cylinder. If you put the disks on where there were drums, a quickie fix is to disconnect the rear brake line at the mc, start a drywall screw into the brass valve and pull it out. Reinstall the line and done. -

4 new starters and still wont start
might check flywheel too. it could be bent from all the jacking around hanging up stuff causing everything new to hang up as well. I normally don't need any shims on sbc motors and I've had a lot of them.- Wrecker

I have several extras but the shipping would cost more than picking them up locally at the junkyard. The ones you want will be from a mid 70's up wagoneer or 4wd GM 1/2 ton trucks so you'll have the correct shape to clear the disk brakes on your Blazer. The ones from the pre 71 GM trucks will... -

Yes, OD at 77 mph pulling the jeep. Probably burned. I've pulled more many times in OD with the same truck, just never that fast. I might fix it but the truck is pretty rough. -

Rest of the trip was...eventful. Heading out of Wichita south on 35 at 77 mph with the jeep on the trailer, I was thinking "this is probably the fastest that old willys has ever moved". Well, it didn't last. I slowed to get on the turnpike toward Tulsa and lost 2nd and 4th in the 4l60E. Hope... -
