i took mine out filled in the hole in the firewall and added a summit racing universal heater for $170 works great, its held in by two brackets all you do is use four self taping screws with washers basically the one mentioned above

found a website that builds a 81 Suburban model kits there kinda pn the pricey side but there good quality i bought models for them a long time ago. just thought it was intresting that they build this kit i emialed them asking for square body pickups so see what happends...
what ido for my demo derby car motor i use something simaliar to what a hot water tank pipe uses or you can take a rubber hose and cut one side of it and slip it over the fuel line and zip tie it together might work for ya
