Good Ospho (phosphoric) and epoxy Test

If nothing happens, I’ll work on my daughter’s S10 frame tomorrow and will get some photos (if anyone id interested) Some has been wire wheeled, and some left natural, and has had Ospho brushed on it. Will show the difference between cleaned and un clean metal. Want to get it out in natural...

whats every body using.. looking for a new stereo head unit

I’ve still got a shaft, blue light Kenwood cassette radio. Thought of seeing what it would take to get usb or aux fitted to it. Dash has been hacked so unsure if I plan to go back shaft, or 1.5 din since I have a complete dash from an 89 Blazer I parted.

    My other special vehicle

Keep it like it is and enjoy it. I have people always telling me I ought to engine swap etc the 65 C10 that my grandfather bought new. I just ride in it and enjoy the memories.

    The infamous 10" bumper

I’ve got an old Bailey drop bumper from the 80s on my truck. They were made in Oklahoma. Old photo, but got it to go with the early, non chrome Warn winch bumper on front of the truck. Bought it out of a yard in Parsons KS. Looks like it was dealer installed, but don’t remember the dealer name...

    Finally got a running 65 C10

Yes we used to bore them .125 over in the early 80s and called them 301s not realizing that made a 4 inch bore and basically a 302 like the early Z28s

    OEM cylinder head castings - 1977 K10

Remember that GM went to thinner (lighter) castings in 1977, so if you get 882 castings, there is a difference in early and late heads. The early heads had a straight edge under the spark plugs, where the later heads were “scalloped” around the plugs. Early heads Later heads The 010...

Corp 14 bolt brake line difference question

The bottom rear is from a 1 ton, as you can tell by the shock bracket placement. (In front of axle on passenger side on 3/4t, behind axle on pass side on 1t. Both srw and drw axles are this way) Maybe the difference in lines is 3/4t vs 1t? Or one with the load equalizer valve and one without?

    Finally got a running 65 C10

Nice looking old 65. Kind of partial to them, as still have the old 65 my grandfather bought new here in the little town I live in. Still got the 230 and 3 on the tree.

Definitive interchangeable parts thread 73-87(91) (non-drivetrain)

Those old 208s held up better than most folks think. From privates to NCOs, they were well tested for strength. Also had a better gear ratio which was needed with the NA 6.2s, even with the 4.56s gears in the old 5/4s

Definitive interchangeable parts thread 73-87(91) (non-drivetrain)

The M1008 CUCVs (we called them “Cuck Vs”) were listed as 1-1/4 ton, and had NP208 (chain driven) transfer cases. But the CUCVs were not the same as your normal assembly line vehicle. Most of the M1028s had NP205s, but some were sent new to unit with NP208s. Was a big change going from the old...
