So its a 1991 but it has a 350 marine motor. It used to be a 305 and an auto that was 4x4 but the previous owner made it a .50 and 2wd manual. So its hard to say.
So the good news is i can take a majority of the parts from his truck and swap it over to mine like the clutch pedal and stuff like that so its not just the trans, its more of the additional stuff like a mating system and if its hydraulic or not
As the title states, yes im going to try and swap in an sm465. Finally listened and am ditching the 700r4. My buddy has the trans and me and him are going to do a trade for his sm465 for my 700r4 with complete clutch and master cylinder assembly. Im sure its out there but I cant find a guide on...
Oh yeah I’m going carbureted cause I get a discount on parts so the controller and Intake is only 800 bucks lol and I was gonna go with a Holley TBI later down the line for a vintage deal, but the intake comes with a TV cable adapter so it works out
Thats awesome, I am keeping the 700r4 for the simplicity reasons and cost. I cant find any "good" 4l60es for a decent price that isnt "rebuilt" or beaten to **** and need a rebuild. Im gonna use the Pro Built kit which ive heard is pretty good and includes an instructional dvd. Any experience...
Hey everyone, as the title states im gonna keep my 700r4 and bolt it up to my 5.3. My question is when getting the motor into the engine bay and mounting it up will I have firewall clearance issues? Will i have to get an aftermarket crossmember for my transmission like a 4l60E? I wanna just use...
yeah i unfortunately live in the great state of new mexico where income is lower and people overvalue the price of everything so that aint as realistic as you make it seem. Ive looked at the surrounding states and it is 100 percent like that but where i am its almost unheard of.
Got it as a short block so id have to buy pretty much new everything and its 1500 cheaper to just make it carb, plus less wiring. I know everyone is gonna be all "wiring is that hard", yeah for the people that have been doing it forever its easy. Besides the ultimate plan is to get it running...
I got just a short block and without heads or a wiring harness, and i did price everything out its about 1500 bucks less just to do the carb and its alot simpler for me so its a better option.
I guess i should also mention that the LS is gonna be carb.... to me it makes sense to keep the 700 at least until i can get like a 6l80e which is waaaaaay down the line of things and then do the electronic one. I guess I could always just get a reman 4l60e which i work for a shop so i get a...
Well the whole reason im wanting to keep the 700r4 is due to it just being easier to work with (to an extent) and to eliminate alot of the wiring, im fine with the tv cable adjustment its not that big of an issue. I was thinking of keeping just the stock converter but thought id dip my toes in...
I am in the process of putting a 5.3 in my 82 c10 and am just planning ahead. Im keeping the 700r4 and just gonna get it rebuild and put a slight shift kit in it. This is going to be a long distance truck for fishing / camping trips. I dont know much about what the stall means and I was curious...
For the life of me I cannot find a thread with the question I need so if its already been discussed I am sorry, decided to just go ahead and do a 5.3 swap on my c10 cause my dad did make a good point of not spending the 2k on rebuilding the 305 and just go ahead and do the LS I already wanted to...
