yeah i unfortunately live in the great state of new mexico where income is lower and people overvalue the price of everything so that aint as realistic as you make it seem. Ive looked at the surrounding states and it is 100 percent like that but where i am its almost unheard of.- tjw82c10

Got it as a short block so id have to buy pretty much new everything and its 1500 cheaper to just make it carb, plus less wiring. I know everyone is gonna be all "wiring is that hard", yeah for the people that have been doing it forever its easy. Besides the ultimate plan is to get it running...- tjw82c10

I got just a short block and without heads or a wiring harness, and i did price everything out its about 1500 bucks less just to do the carb and its alot simpler for me so its a better option.- tjw82c10

I guess i should also mention that the LS is gonna be carb.... to me it makes sense to keep the 700 at least until i can get like a 6l80e which is waaaaaay down the line of things and then do the electronic one. I guess I could always just get a reman 4l60e which i work for a shop so i get a...- tjw82c10

Well the whole reason im wanting to keep the 700r4 is due to it just being easier to work with (to an extent) and to eliminate alot of the wiring, im fine with the tv cable adjustment its not that big of an issue. I was thinking of keeping just the stock converter but thought id dip my toes in...- tjw82c10

I am in the process of putting a 5.3 in my 82 c10 and am just planning ahead. Im keeping the 700r4 and just gonna get it rebuild and put a slight shift kit in it. This is going to be a long distance truck for fishing / camping trips. I dont know much about what the stall means and I was curious...- tjw82c10

Yeah that one does look familiar. Im gonna try to take some better pictures this weekend before i take it to the machine shop. I guess another question i should ask is how far can i get by just replacing the 2 sensors stated above for the guages? I want it to be a fairly "simple" rebuild.- tjw82c10

Hello, new guy here, just got myself an 82 c10 with a 305 sbc. Im taking it to the machine shop this weekend to get it cleaned up and bored. While i was tearing it apart it looked like there were more than 2 sensors /sending units connected to it. I know the temp sending unit is on the cylinder...- tjw82c10
