Took the weekend and installed Design Engineering Inc cut and form transmission tunnel heat shield, managed it two pieces and heat tape, *Note - easier with a friend than alone for placement lol -

Dually Fender Transition Cap Piece
So I’m not sure what I’m looking for, I saw few posts, one with a transition fender gap piece, but I’m curious what was done from gm factory with the Dually fender to transition the fenders/ protect the fibreglass at all - or was it just the cap and fibreglass was truly left to the elements of...- Tank6x2

Agree with you, one exception- your spreading the load of the truck over 24 rivets for just the rear (light end) of the truck, as much as I wouldn’t think it move on just the cab, I would bet an engineer at GM would say it’s only meant to support the body structure where as the frame crossmember... -

I would shoot for suspension or frame, body mounts are solid but wouldn’t trust them outright to hold the weight of the truck. IMO which ain’t worth much to most… if you feel safe, and nothing happens- we will continue to see you around. If not …. -

Spent the weekend prepping and painting the bottom side of the cab and disassembling the hardware on the box. -

Been a few weekends preparing the bottom of the cab, filling pin holes with weld, knocking as many dings flats as possible and finally forcing self etching primer into the seams before sealer went on, polishing off Easter weekend with a free junkyard cut out seatbelt nut and getting it welded in. -

Started the weekend getting the mill scale off - leftovers from lasering, cleaning off residual tight spot rust it couldn’t reach, good weekend!
