    vintage air system

I just finished a complete Vintage Air AC install on my 1979 K 2500 that was a non-ac truck. I have a total of about 32-33 man hours on the install and it works great. In 90 degree + temps. it takes about 2 minutes to cool off the cab and anything over about 25-30% on the blower, after that...

I am going to install the Vintage AC in my 1979

From what I was told the pulleys are necessary. They definitely make it easy go get the belts aligned properly. The power steering was the only one that I had to use a puller on. I have to use my truck on a daily basis so we had to hit it hard so I could be back on the road after the...

I am going to install the Vintage AC in my 1979

What a day! I have a friend who has a home shop and we did the rest of the install today. Yesterday I removed the inner fender panel, front grill, and did the mods to the drivers side for the new vents in the dash. Today we started by removing the radiator, fan shroud, hood latches, as well...

I am going to install the Vintage AC in my 1979

I started the install today and so far it seems pretty easy and straight forward. I am hoping to finish it up tomorrow. I will update and let you know about the end result.

Did you change your pulleys? If so did you do the two and three groove v-belts or did you do the serpentine conversion? Thanks.

I am going to install the Vintage AC in my 1979

I ordered it from Summit. They matched the Ebay price and it should be here soon. I will let everyone know how the install goes.

I am going to install the Vintage AC in my 1979

I know I can order it from Vintage Air. I was looking for a better price. I found several vendors selling the kit for $1250.00 and also talked with one that was less than $1200.00. Of course, now I cannot remember who the sub $1200 price was.

    Tire question

I am a fan of the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac. I have them on several vehicles and they are quiet on the road yet great in mud and also rated for deep snow. All of mine are the 10 ply and I consistantly get 50,000 out of a set. Hope his helped.

What should my new seat be????

I have dual tanks so I am not looking to cut out or modify the floor pans. As long as they sit low enough I can easily build new brackets for them to attach to. Any idea if that would work with that style seat?

What should my new seat be????

Would the 95-99 seat in the video work in a 1979 GMC K25 standard cab? If so, that is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks in advance.

New to the forum from central North Carolina

I just bought "Big Blue" back after selling it 11 years ago. Big Blue is a 1979 GMC Sierra K25. When I bought it in 2001 it only had 41,700 original miles. I did a complete restoration which included a second gas tank, 4" lift kit, new interior, paint, and other custom touches. I was...
