I was "gifted" the '05 with 230K miles & that much filth inside too. The gifter said I must use the engine for a swap OR cut the truck up...so making me a farm ute was the obvious choice! I closed in the rear with a Savana hood, leftover panels used from the removed roof & "covid barrier" plexi...- Strick

Gone & done it again!
I pulled the trans & case down so that I can replace the flexplate. The starter drive looks decent as the starter looks to be new. I'll post more pics & news when I can wrench on it again.- Strick

Time to regroup. The flexplate is the worst I've seen. As evidenced by the metal chunks & Saturn Rings in the inspection cover. This CUCV may get a 454 & SM465. Some of the "provenance" is lost with the FD paint job...which is freaking awesome BTW. Purist always want a Woodland Green Camo (as I...- Strick

These CUCV have different wiring than the regular C/K trucks. The starter relay along with glow plug card and many other electronic goodies are dangling beneath the dash. I've found the starter (purple) wire cut underhood & have tied it together temporarily. I've bootlegged the starter relay...- Strick

Welcome from Central NC. That truck looks great & I'm certain that with the 400SBC, 4speed & dual exhaust it's a fun driver & the appearance makes it a head turner. I just won a 1985 1 ton C/K Four door from the auction. going to pick it up next week ill post pics. Are there any four door square body guys on here?
Dad's was deluxe 2-tone & had the upper & lower molding. I have those to put back on it. He wanted the newer plastic junk instead of the metal "racetrack" put on. Here it is in the early 80's.- Strick

He ordered that way. He complained because the hood was supposed to be tan with the side striped & it didn't come that way. I had it painted for him over 20 years ago & had the hood tan for him.
