85 C10 Silverado - 305 - Quadrajet
I just finished installing a reman carb and when I cranked her up she was smoking up a storm.
And barely running. I am assuming that this is a timing issue. Is there something else on the carb that I should check or adjust?
Just wanted to piggy back on this post. I also have an '85 with a 305 Quadrajet and I want to do the same thing.
Would the diagram that you provided work for my truck?
My specs
- I have the UHK vacuum setup
- Don't use cruise control
- I haven't removed air pump yet
- I am assuming with the EGR...

I am sorting the top end out and replacing cracked vacuum hoses and the like and I would like to test it out before plunking $50 just to buy a new one.

I would use a thread chaser before I attempted anything else. They have saved my bacon more than once and are ideal for cross threaded "stickie" situations:
