    Hydroboost - Hard Pedal

That was the impression I got in all my research leading up to this. Chalking it up to a bone head move by me.

    Chrome bumpers comparison ?

I used LMC for quite a lot of stuff. In hindsight I'd go another route. My rear bumper and brackets don't fit right at all. Thought it'd be a direct bolt on. Nah. Bracket holes had to hogged out just to mount to the frame. Then the bumper wouldn't line up with half the carriage holes, even...

    Hydroboost - Hard Pedal

Thanks, me too. I thought it might have something to do with not pressing the pedal to relieve the hydraulic pressure as one would do in an accumulator test. I looked around online a bit, read, watched what info was available. Dove in with both feet. The gas charged chamber has to be...

    Hydroboost - Hard Pedal

Update mostly for fun. Ran some errands in the beast and after 20 mins of city driving the brakes went to crap. So, I got a wild hair and tore apart the PS pump and did a rebuild on it just cause. Didn't see anything wild that stood out. Very little derbis. Nothing was clogged. Lines were free...

    Starter Solenoid Sticking

Now that I think of it, first time it happened I'd been trying to start it a couple times and when it freaked out I let it sit overnight and had the battery on a maintenance charger. This go around it was the same deal. Did a couple starts and only had a few mins of run time. Probably not...

    Starter Solenoid Sticking

As you see by the title, yes, I believe the solenoid is sticking. I'm more curious as to why. Been reading up online and seems like it could be my issue. Hoping someone can school me so I can learn. Background: Starter is new as of 2021, not refurbished. Time frame aside, it maybe only has ~50...

    Hydroboost - Hard Pedal

Combination valve is in place. I installed a new one and currently the block off bleed tool is still inserted rather than the brake light pin thing. I keep forgetting its in. All in all the entire brake system is new. I did the entire engine swap and restoration over the past few years. Got the...

    Hydroboost - Hard Pedal

Thanks for those diagrams. For some reason my search didn't pop up anything worth looking at, or they were super blurry and I couldn't zoom in. It does look like I could have the low pressure lines swapped on the respective PS return ports. Not sure that it makes a difference, but hey, it's a...

    Hydroboost - Hard Pedal

On the '05, does the booster low pressure line go into the PS reservoir, or the cooler? I have mine running out to the cooler and the steering box one goes right into the rear/lower return port on the PS res as can be seen in my photo. I'm wondering if I switch my lines around if I might see...

    Hydroboost - Hard Pedal

I don't seem to have the "self apply" thing happening. But it's good to know that's a thing happens on that gen of engine. I can definitely throw a new PS pump at it. In my quest of building this thing everything else is new. So no worries there. At least it could knock out a variable before I...

    Hydroboost - Hard Pedal

Plumbed the way I thought was best with a cooler in place. I have the return line from the booster going through the cooler and back in the PS pump res. Then the return off the steering box to the second port on the PS resovoir. As shown in the attached diagram.

    Hydroboost - Hard Pedal

I searched and browsed for a bit, but didn't find anything exactly like my issue. So. Here's the deal. My 496 swapped '76 K20 has a hydroboost swap from a diesel (just for helpful info) must be getting an air lock, or something like that. I'm not a hydroboost specialist, but understand the...

    Highliner Bulb Size

Responding to myself and for future searches. I guess the bulb doesn't matter a whole lot, as long as it's the automotive "wedge" base type. I got a 158 bulb to fit. I had jimmy it a bit to get it in. Tried a few others after that and got them to go as well; all with the "W2.1x9.2d" base. My...

    Fuel gauge troubleshooting

I've been chasing the same issue. Mine ended up being the wire out of the main bulkhead fitting (18-TAN30) that splices into the sending unit supply wires further back. Or, so I believe. I yanked it when I did my resto for lack of knowledge. Use to run down the passenger side frame rail. Did a...

    Highliner Bulb Size

They're ever so slightly to wide, like to the decimal millimeters. Either that or the "bulbous" center section of the bulb is too big. I took a caliper and measured best I could before I went to the parts store and 194 was the closest to the measurement width wise, plus the marker lights are the...
