Yeah, I figured that out. Also figured out that the water pump I bought doesn't cover that one hole on the passenger side that leads to the heads, so a new water pump (again) is in order. I'll get an aluminum one this time.

I hated to get rid of her, but after some deep thought, it's better to get something smaller. The 'burb is just too much for the needs of myself and the family. I've already done the hard part and "erased the slate" so to speak. No interior, no front end, so he can go any direction he wants...

Hmmm....I always thought that when you do something like this, the electrodes need to be of a dissimilar metal (maybe I am thinking electroplating instead)

Hmm...no shift relay?? Th400 Downshift Switch

If its like any of the 4T60e/65e transaxles I'm used to, it's a toothed tonering (reluctor wheel) and a magnetic pickup. Hall Effect in a nutshell.

Hmm...no shift relay?? Th400 Downshift Switch

Well, I can confirm my 1990 has the electronic speedo as I already have the cluster out. No cable going to it, so yup.... As to know when it would kick down....pretty sure through my experience with GM PCM tuning that it would know through the TPS. There are tables in the bin file that say...

Hmm...no shift relay?? Th400 Downshift Switch

Alright, found my answer.... Downshift is controlled by the PCM by closing the relay. Since my new PCM won't be able to do that sort of thing, I'll have to go to a switch on the gas pedal instead...

Hmm...no shift relay?? Th400 Downshift Switch

Positive. 700R4s couldn't be had in the 3/4 4x4s from what I recalled. Plus, the gear shift only indicated PRND21. And...it looks like a TH400, spade terminal on the driver side and all :Moon: Though I should note this is NOT the original trans. It appears to have been rebuilt, I'd say...

Hmm...no shift relay?? Th400 Downshift Switch

Alright, I'm confused (not hard to do on any given day, but even more than usual today). TH400s are supposed to have kickdown relays and a switch on the gas pedal, right? My '90 Burb has neither. Doesn't mention it in the Chiltons book I have handy, but did the ECM control downshift instead?

Still been chugging along at what seems like a crawl. On an auto-related note, the VATS module on my Bonneville decided to check out for the final time, so getting that thing back up and running took priority. Still not running yet, just diagnosed...hopefully I can bypass the module altogether...

Didn't get home until 11 last night. At the front door were two packages for me  This morning I went ahead and sat the intake on top of the block to give me some confidence boosting. Noticed some things almost immediately. One...not enough room to install those CNG injectors, so...

Yeah, it's a brand new neighborhood...still in its infancy really. Only been here 3 months or so, but I already have a....reputation. Not bad mind you...several households have come over to see my work (rebuilding, detailing, etc) and one house actually wants me to detail all their rides (!)

Yeah...but the HOA wouldn't take too kindly to that sorta thing. Hell, I get funny looks when the 'burb gets pushed out of the garage on a nice day. Y'know, with it not having any front end on it and all.

Yeah, that's equivalent price. Still, that's a hella good deal considering. TBI would be the easiest and cheapest way to implement, but I've already gone so far into the TPI and PCM mods that there is no turning back. MPG would be roughly 20% lower, which would equal the same MPG I would get...

The ONG on 152 has a filliing station. That's roughly 3 miles from my home, with other stations well within easy reach. Since I'm building this to be little more than a local runner, it's easier for me to justify making it solely CNG instead of dual-fuel. The only issue would be the CNG...

Wow...3.66/gal for squirrel pee. This does not bode well. I'm actually considering making this rig CNG. Here in Oklahoma, there are tons of CNG stations, with the one in Mustang offering 88 cents/gallon equivalent. That makes the conversion almost a no-brainer.
