    he said the tube coming off the first cylinder on the passenger side wouldn't clear the motor mount

    does any one have any recommendations for a decent set of long tube headers that will bolt up to an 86 k5 without any modifications (besides the a/c bracket)? bought a set of jegs headers that said they were for a k5 but my mechanic says they dont fit, what have you guys used and had good luck...

    couldnt find any info on what the centrifugal advance for this distributor is online, ill have to call accel in the morning and see if they can give me any more info. one thing i didnt think of before, do i need to take into consideration the cam? it has an rv cam does that change anything?

    its the accell 59130 going into a 400sb no egr, nothing fancy with the heads just stock, the motor was bored .030over and put in an rv cam

    ok, appreciate it, so sounds like i should just leave it off when i first install it, ive never dealt with setting the timing curve or any of this so im pretty well clueless at this point

    so is it just trying different ones until you like it? the plate it came with has 5 thru 8, 8 thru 11, 11 thru 14 and 14 thru 17, i havent the slightest clue which to start with or if the plate is even necessary

    i am replacing my intake manifold gaskets and i figured id put in new hei distributor while im at it, seeing as how i need to remove distributor anyways, im replacing it with an accell hei, when i opened the box it comes with a vacuum advance stop plate, my question is do i need this? and if so...

    quick question for you guys, im replacing a bad intake manifold gasket(at least i hope thats the problem) my question is how important is it to have the distributor at tdc? or do you just have to make sure it goes in in the same position it came out? advice is allways appreciated

    its the stock distributor and i got rid of all the esc stuff, when i changed the cap and rotor it was pretty rusty and nasty looking inside, i was looking at a mas distributor online i think it was 60 or 70 bucks, im just not sure what the difference is in the rpm ranges

    i am planning on swapping out my stock 86 distributor with new hei, i see them at 6500rpm 7500rpm and 9000rpm, hoping someone could tell me what the difference is in the performance, its going in a 400sb with rv cam so not a race car

    been going crazy trying to find this kind of info online, i have an 86 k5 blazer that i swapped out the 305 with a 400, deleted most of the emissions stuff and have a after market edlebrock carb, this thread has help tremendously. thank you i know this is a very old thread but im hoping this...
