Paint RPO help
I looked through every paint code reference I have, and nothing even close to 8099. I'm guessing it's a code used in Canadian-built trucks. That said, you should be able to visually match the 2 colors to existing samples on different sites. My go-to is usually this one...- LuvNLife

Hub Bore Question
What I've got: '85 C10, 2wd short bed. Looking at wheels, and have a question about hub bore (I did search; no luck). Has anyone actually measured the hub diameter? I know many wheel manufacturers spec it at 83.82mm, but others like Rocket Racing come in at 78mm, and are supposedly a guaranteed...- LuvNLife

The guy that did the engine install for me had all of the rockers adjusted way too tight when I picked it up, and it idled really bad. That told me despite his years of wrenching on SBC's, he didn't know crap. Took it to another shop where the guy and his father both have real-world experience...- LuvNLife

Thank you very much for the info. As luck would have it, I have a brand new "Tahoe" starter - HTPM - in the garage, just in case. All of your assumptions about the battery condition, cables, good grounds, etc. are accurate. I'll go over everything in the daylight tomorrow, though.- LuvNLife

Well, nice day today; high 40's-low 50's, sun, breeze. Great day to run the truck and check the cooling system for any loss and bubbles. Extremely High Idle...
It's before TDC... Good find by the mechanic on your rockers being adjusted too tight (and loose). He was probably referring to one of the pushrods being so tight, it wouldn't spin freely like they all should. Sounds like you're heading in the right direction!- LuvNLife

Carb Issues - PLEASE HELP
Is there any way you can post a picture of the carb or the spec sheet that came with it? That eliminates some guesswork on this end. Also, you mention Quick Fuel recommending an idle of 1500-2000RPM. That would be the idle with a choke engaged, not your warmed-up idle.- LuvNLife
