    3/4 ton axles

How about the burban 3/4 axles? Wonder what they use..

    3/4 ton axles

Yes, the lighter duty front axle K20 is the EXACTLY same as a standard K10 axle. The only difference being two (2) additional studs on the rotor. The backing plates, calipers, pads, backing plate, disk dia, bearings, seals etc is EXACTLY the same and interchangeable. There are some higher...

    3/4 ton axles

The 3/4 and 1/2 ton axles up front (corp 10 bolt) are identical internally, the only diff is the hub (8 vs 6 lug). Most 3/4 front disks are the same as 1/2 tons, the exception is that 3/4's with higher GVWR do have the larger disks. On the rear, things are different on 3/4's. Having either...

    Vapor lock

Used to have lots of problems in the spring, most likely caused in part by winter blend fuel being used in hot spring weather. Added heat shields to fuel lines and installed factory cold air intake. No more probs to date.

    2 Buck Electronics Upgrade

Have been spoiled by new vehicles with electronically controlled headlamps, turn signal indicators along with everything else control modules can do. Use my square for trailer pulling, quite often in heavy traffic. Run headlights during the day / use signals often for a margin of safety...

    Painting my wheels

x2 on the Self Etching primer. Home Depot carries Rust-Oleum SE primer, price is good, easy to apply, sticks well; used it on a set of OEM wheels 2 years ago which are holding up great.

    Turn signal fuze blowing

Rag should be stuffed in horn to keep sanity. Watching a lamp while keeping an eye on wires as they are manipulated is difficult. Low impedance load, as opposed to piezoelectric key-in buzzers, works well in diagnosing intermittent issues.

    Turn signal fuze blowing

Best way to troubleshoot steady or intermittent 12V short is via insertion of horn in place of fuse w/ male spade connectors. With that and a schematic, start isolating as stated above, you will have it figured out soon.

    Junk yard parts to pick

K20 axles w/ posi. Any ratio higher than 3.08 would be helpful. And make a list of "little chrome pieces, misc stuff" broke out of your truck. When wandering the pic-n-pull yard it is not always easy to remember all the little things that you could use.

Edelbrock clearance issues. (or go back to quadrajet)

Edelbrock fuel line placement is a problem w/ stock air filter housing. I modified air housing to obtain clearance.

GM C channel frame -> Boxed frame

Seriously thinking about buying a newer model GM 3/4 or 1 ton LWB standard cab 4x4 and cutting down to accept SWB bed. Would like to stay w/ C channel frame for ease of fabrication. Does anyone know the model year GM went to fully boxed frames for these pickups?

    Soldering equipment....one better than another?

If your soldering on a commercial volume basis, the high dollar equipment makes things much easier and is worth the money. For learning or doing periodic repairs simple HF equipment will fill the bill.

How screwed am I? Broken intake manifold bolt hole in head.

Many years ago I drilled down into the water jacket of a running Cooper LM-9, never shut it down, just applied some extra silicone and its still going strong. At this point you are definitely at a crossroads. I would suggest consider drilling down with the proper dia drill till you either...

How screwed am I? Broken intake manifold bolt hole in head.

Is there a bolt broke off in the hole? Or did the head casting simply crumble? Kind of hard to tell with the photo.. ^^ got it
