    One more crazy thing with connections. My temp gauge was acting up. It would flail about, wildly and then settle on maxed out. I cleaned the connection at the sender and now it reads the temp correctly most of the time. It still flails sometimes, but settles on the real temp.

    Yes, as YakkoWarner suggested, it's going to be different with 2 tanks. I'll try to find a schematic for the setup with 2. That selector switch is an obvious possible disruption point.
