    Yeah I actually read yours. Its works just as well. Not sure if the extra u joint makes it better or not. The stock shaft doesn't have a upper u joint so thats why I just slid the DD XJ or the stock DD. Fits great and no play. Slides in and out for body flex. No binding. Might be better for...

    Slide the bigger DD XJ shaft over the smaller DD Square Shaft. Tighten the steering gear box bolt and done.

    Once switched heat the xj shaft, melt the toxic plastic, seperate them and take the bigger DD end with the correct D shape splined coupling for the steering gear box. Circled in red.

    Take your XJ shaft and switch the ends around. I used a bench vise.

    My column is a 77. I made it work. If you swap the ends around on the XJ shaft and then separate the shaft it will work. You take out the lower steering shaft then slide the XJ shaft over the excess stock shaft in the photo.
