    Wild-assed JDM camber

Seems to be good now, thanks to the alignment shop's special Shitload O' Shims method.

    Wild-assed JDM camber

My truck's front wheels have enough negative camber to make a winged and fart-piped Civic driver proud. I thought this was due to horribly worn out ball joints, but it's not. (The reason it drove like it had horribly worn out ball joints turned out to be the right upper control arm was barely...

    GMT400 ball joints

Well, you know... Normally I use a 20 pound log splitter for swinging inside wheel wells, but all I had at the time was this hammer I found in my six year old son's toy box... Eh, no, didn't do that. Although to be honest I probably wouldn't admit it if I did. So, torch did the trick...

    GMT400 ball joints

Yes, they're press-fit, and I have a ball joint press. Once I get the old one out, as long as I clean the hole on the LCA and start the new one straight, I'm confident I can get the new ball joint installed. It's just that there's no way to get a press on it to remove the old one, not a ball...

    GMT400 ball joints

I started replacing upper and lower ball joints on a '97 K1500 Z71 last night, and I'm ashamed to report that they're kicking my ass. I had to grind off the rivets on the uppers, knock them off with a chisel then grind again and drill out what was left of the rivets before I could bolt on the...

    tbi to carb swap help

I've done the TBI to carb swap on two vehicles. A '91 Camaro 305 and a '91 Bravada 4.3 that I jammed a 350 into. It's very straightforward. The two things you need to be concerned with are fuel delivery and the throttle valve (TV, "kickdown") cable for your 700R4 if you have one. QJets...

    Correcting fender gap

Lame. Yes I'm pretty sure this truck does have at least one aftermarket fender. I was hoping the answer would be "slot some holes in the core support" or something like that. Oh well. I will continue thinking about it, and staring at it, since it's the only thing I see when I look at it...

    Correcting fender gap

That gap is about right with the door, and with the hood toward the cowl. It gets wider toward the front of the hood, on both sides.

    wipers

Are you sure? If it's supposed to have delay, and your column or switch isn't original, it might be from a non-delay setup. If that's the case, it will behave as you're describing, as mine did initially when I replaced the column.

Suburban stock speaker sizes / location

I could take all this apart myself and find out, and I may yet, but I bet someone here knows already... 1. What size speakers fit in my Suburban's stock locations? Looks like 6x9's in the back? Or is it some other oddball oval shape? 2. I don't know if I want to put the front speakers...

Post your toys, square or not

Y'all try not to hate on it too hard, I know it's a Ford... Call it the Poor Man's Camaro if it makes you feel better, (you wouldn't be the first) but here's my pride and joy. I love it more than anything on this planet that isn't flesh and blood, and some that is: Got a 351w that I built...

    Correcting fender gap

My truck has apparently had one or both fenders replaced at some point, and as a result I've got excessive gap on both sides between the fenders and the hood. It bugs the hell out of me. I know there's got to be a simple way to correct this. What bolts do I need to loosen in order to move...

    Harbor Freight Tool/Product Review

Man that's cool. I've thought about trying to do something like that with mine, but it's just too big. Sucks 'cause I have to borrow a pickup or a trailer every time I want to move it. I could fit it in the Suburban if it could fold...
