Update: was on target. I started advancing the timing until the stumble went away and using my timing light figured out I was at about 50*. I thought WTF??! Then started checking and the 12 o'clock timing tab is 40* advanced from the 2 o'clock tab.... long story short, the remanufacturing...- Dirtboy

This is why I’m stumped, I for sure set the distributor correctly and you’d think a remanned engine would have a new cam and the timing gears would be set correctly. The original engine threw a rod.
