Yea, this sums up what i've learned so far. basecoat seems more forgiving. I think my prep will be ok but i'm always worried. Its factory paint except the new panels. I plan to 80grit sand moderately, exposing primer but not metal and spray HB primer. I thought i was closer to this step but...- coolpup32

Well I can say if it turns out like junk, i can only blame myself and not my tools! Thats good info on that dark blue, that should save me quite a bit of money... Sorry for the late reply. Yea, silver is the primary, red/burgundy/maroon on the roof and mid-panels. Best i can figure, i can do the red with under 2 quarts and a gallon of silver. Pickup Coil interference / binding
yea, i thought replacing with the old ring would help, but it's just not quite centered. there's a little slop if i loosen the bolts but i just cant align it so it doesnt 'bump' ... with a firm twist you can overcome the interference, so i dont think i big enough piece could break off and...- coolpup32

Converted NP203 grinding sound in 2WD
you can see on @Dooley photo, the pipe pretty clearly, you're looking from above the case. on yours all i see is a standard plug. the goal was to raise the oil level in a manner that the tail housing would hold oil, that's where the oil pump is- coolpup32
