It's good to hear that these flat tappet engines are holding up, from some of the horror stories you read on the internet they make it sound like they are failing left and right. Kind of had me worried.

Yep, its a pretty mild 4 bolt main engine with the 993 heads. It's for sale on the front page of either summit or jegs right now for 1450 dollars. It used to be called the target master 350. Mine not new, it looks like it was dropped in sometime in the early 1990's.

Forgot to add, its all stock internally and already broken in. It's been sitting for a while. I just don't want to wipe out the cam lobes.

I just filled my Goodwrench 350 up with v1r, I had read it was good for flat tappets, but since then I've read some things saying it wasn't really that great and didnt have the zddp levels i need. Now I'm confused.

You guys are fast. Thanks for the info, good to hear I only need to replace the mechanical pump.

I have an 84 model suburban with the 5.7. It has the mechanical fuel pump on the block but does it have any kind of electric pump in the fuel tank? It seems like that's a long ways for the little mechanical pump to suck fuel from.
